This entry is LONG OVERDUE, but I've spent the last few days drowning in paperwork -- this was something that I did on purpose, as I wanted to make sure that I did all my teacherly stuff before the actual break. That way, I'd be free to party slack off be productive in other, less academic areas of my life throughout the Christmas season. I CAN HAPPILY COLLAPSE IN A CORNER SOMEWHERE NOW THAT EVERYTHING IS DONE! \o/

Srsly, though, this Responsible Adult thing? Sometimes I want to kick myself in the head for it. I might work myself straight to the coffin at this rate. Somebody needs to tell me when to slow down. *fail*

kye_kestrel had her birthday celebration last Saturday over at Powerplant; anothermiyaw hitched a ride with me from Katipunan, after my Texts and Textuality Class. Traffic was bad, so we kinda ended up shooting the breeze for the good hour that we spent swimming through a sea of cars. Met up with the boss and yukitsu once we got there: everyone else - khrusten, 77ws, ficcentricity and lonelybusiness who is fail because she thought we were meeting up in Glorietta - arrived later. Cue dinner shenanigans. Cue crazy gifts. KRISTEL, UNDERSTAND THE CHAOS YOU BROUGHT DOWN UPON ALL OF US WITH THOSE GIFTS. B|

Spent the next few days after that Drowning in Papers whenever I was home and doing school shenanigans whenever I was in Ateneo. Finally managed to finish up everything sometime last night, and today was light and easy. Had my first Christmas party with the English Department. That was pretty much an awesome way to kick off my break. ♥


Goals That Will Probably Not Be Met For Christmas Break 2008:
* Work on my pitch to Image Comics. I'm planning on pitching Endtimes. *crosses fingers*
* BOND WITH MY PS2. ASDK;LHG;LAHSDGHADSG TOO MANY PEOPLE POSTING ABOUT PERSONA 4.
* BOND WITH MY PSP. I'VE ONLY BEEN USING IT FOR MUSIC. orz
* Catch up with my backlogged anime, manga, movies and TV series. The list keeps growing, whut.
* Catch up with all the books I've bought but haven't even really cracked open.
* Sort all those images. I HAD A GOOD START.
* Fix my game plan for the rest of the semester with my kids.
* Write more Return on Investment after I've finished all my Christmas gift fics.

My thirteenth month pay thingie came in last week, and Mom just put it on time deposit - this means a huge rate of return in terms of interest every month. This suddenly makes some plans that I had for 2009 very feasible, so I've decided to go for a major Poverty Plan to make sure that I achieve them at the projected dates.

Here's hoping that I make it.

Today was a pretty slow day on campus -- I only had two classes, and one of them ended up being a sort of field trip down to this exhibit at Dela Costa. Now I'm very curious about Indonesia. @_@

That said, the highlight of the day will have to be finishing Odin Sphere, which I gunned from the moment I got home all the way until this point.

Now that I'm done with Odin Sphere, I can get back to Devil Summoner. I'm already halfway through, I think, but I'm starting to miss going OC with my demons and such. Besides, I need to gather material for that fic I owe kye_kestrel.

Unless something goes terribly wrong between now and later, yukitsu will be accompanying me as I buy my PSP tomorrow. <3333

...It's been a while since I've wrote a post that's about 98% fangirling and 2% RL stuff. @_@

I tagged along with yukitsu to the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Philippine PEN Foundation~ the driver had to get some teeth pulled out, so I commuted from my house all the way to Manila. ROAD TRIP FTW!

Since we got to the place at lunch time, we only managed to attend one talk. Ma'am Hidalgo was my favorite one on the panel, I think... to be honest, it's a bit hard for me to swallow talks revolving around literature and nationhood. Yes, it's a valid issue and all and yes I know that there's something wrong with the system, but I'd rather hear about how to instill these changes. It would also be nice if writers actually bothered to put an ear towards the youth, yeah?

Talking about the problem and making a checklist of "shoulds" and "should nots" is one thing. Actually DOING rather than dictating is quite another, I think.

Slept REALLY late because of Odin Sphere (note this post), and woke up at 10:30. Lolled about for a while before the parentals dragged us kids out of the house for the customary annual clan reunion at the Good Shepherd Convent (where I proceeded to talk about life, college, high school and Persona 3 with my cousins). Will be attending Mass in a bit, so I'm going through BL manga. Again.

In spite of my frigging faulty internet connection, MY 53 GB HENTAI DOWNLOAD IS NEARLY DONE, YAY.

I can't believe it's already December. khursten, psychoshoujo, yukitsu: we're still on for Avenue Q, right?

Er. So right now I'm in the office, downloading pr0n Wordpress themes. I managed to set up the portal for the company website (pathetic-looking, I know), so now I'm just gathering all the files I need and mulling over how I'm going to build everything else. I'm seriously considering using the Wordpress CMS as my backend for... well, just about everything. It seems a whole lot more appealing than HTMLing my ass off. It's been too long since I've touched codes, and the easier the interface, the happier I'll be.

Yesterday was Cut Class All Day and Do Org Stuff Day. Spread AWKWARD TURTLES! love to all the Litsoc people manning the book sale, and hung out with yukitsu. Wasn't able to put in any Odin Sphere tiem because I had to gun around 18 readings for Theology class. Turns out I'll have a long test soon.

Peter was tipsy the other night and insisted on sitting in the back with me -- I won't explain how, but let's just say that my ear got caught by the snapping handles of my plastic case and verily ripped my right earring off. So I'm earring-less again, and not very happy about it. ALL THAT EFFORT GOING NOWHERE.

Lesson learned: Bap Baby Brother next time he drinks on a school night.

Hur hur. Formations meet tomorrow, along with a quiz in Theo. Saturday will quite possibly be eaten up by Read or Die duties, which leaves Sunday for bumming. I'm sort of in limbo because my thesis is finished (for the moment), and I'm hoping to get some writing done. As I've told yukitsu and a few others, I can no longer churn out page after page of shit then go "OMG LOOKIT WORLD I WROTEZ SOMETHINGZ!" in good faith. It's not so much the feedback I dread, but the very idea of me putting out something that just doesn't match up. Then there's the fact that I just don't seem to have the time to really sit down and write because of school and other RL things.

Then there's the sheer number of projects I've accumulated, and am actually considering doing. After spending nearly every free moment I had writing in my first and second years, I devoted my third through fifth years of college to RL duties/reading. And you know how writers just absorb ideas and inspiration wherever they may find it. It's both thrilling and frustrating to have all this stuff stocked up and have no way of really channeling it out because there's simply no means to do so yet.

...Oh, the agony of writing. At least I've gotten much better. I think. x_X

That reminds me. I really ought to fix up the next chapters of my India submission. I haven't been able to focus on it at all for more than a few months now. Shoutout to redplasticglass and subdivided: I am so sorry I haven't been in touch and all. >_
