Right, so. Yesterday was the first regular school day after the shitstorm that was Ondoy.

The atmosphere was rather... well. It wasn't great, but it wasn't entirely terrible. Still, it's rather haunting, going around and hearing people talk about nothing else but what happened, or occasionally spotting someone crying on someone else's shoulder. My students, for the most part, are okay - we talked long and much about exactly how the tragedy could have reached critical mass the way it did, along with a more regular concern: grades.

I've just spent most of my day checking all of their remaining requirements and computing for their class standing - it doesn't look like I'll be failing anyone this semester, and overall, everyone did stellar in my classes. Tomorrow will involve some negotiations on the parts of a few of my students, and I'll probably let them have their desired grade bumps if they can argue with me well enough.

On the grad studies end of things, I've still got a paper to write. Felt shitty over the past few weeks, so I really haven't been able to do it. Thankfully, I returned to my calm and happy place by rolling around and fixing all (yes, all) of my backlogged files and changing my icon sets, so I think I'm recharged enough to give it a shot. Tonight, perhaps.

Now let's talk internet things.

...Right, back to work.
Saturday started off on a completely FAIL! note - I was supposed to wake up by 8 so that I could get out by 9 and meet up with [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu early for our girly session. Ended up waking up at 10:40, running around like a headless chicken and getting to Greenhills sometime before 12. orz

STILL, I GOT MY HAIRCUT. AND YUKEH HAS A LOT OF HAIR. \o/

[livejournal.com profile] botling, I have no pictures. Imma sorry? 8D?

Anyway, uh, after the haircut thing, we headed off to Glorietta and rolled around, plotting [livejournal.com profile] theskytides things until the rest of the gang ([livejournal.com profile] khursten, [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel, [livejournal.com profile] 77ws, [livejournal.com profile] lonelybusiness and [livejournal.com profile] ficcentricity) showed up. We ate a late lunch/somewhat dinner at Super Bowl before Monsters vs. Aliens, which was so full of stupid fun I think we all killed ourselves a little after it was finished.

I wanted to head off after that to [livejournal.com profile] laurgasm's birthday party to hook up with the old crowd, but I was pretty wiped out and my parents wanted me early for graduation things. SORRY, GIRLS! ;A; Let's meet up next time, okay?

Slept early as requested, which was A VERY GOOD THING because the graduation mass for my brother's batch was at fucking 7:30 AM (the homily was really nice, though, and the choir was kickass). We all headed home together (Peter wasn't interested in the batch breakfast) and lollygagged at the meal table with Italian bread, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Great food is great. ;3;

Peter and I spent the rest of the afternoon marathoning Supernatural eps 14-16 (WRY DEAN WRY--) before parents hussled us out for the actual graduation ceremony, which was hellafuckinglong and pretty hard to cope with since the gym's not airconditioned and there were over 2,000 people in there. I shouldn't complain too much, though, since I was enjoying my book (McMafia, on globalization and the criminal world) and had a crapload of good ideas for ROI. I think I know how to situate the Vongola Family in an actual "real" framework now. o_o

Grad dinner was done over at Eastwood with the rest of the family + Peter's girlfriend. We got home at a decent time and I really, really intended to go to sleep except I didn't. orz I BLAME THIS ON YOU, [livejournal.com profile] theprerogative! B|

I'm chilling out at home in spite of the heat and the sucky connection because I need to archive my files (MY HARD DRIVE RAN OUT OF SPACE, WTF, THAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE UNPOSSIBLE). The sooner I archive, the sooner I can get to slicing and dicing at my backlog with a katana. Or something like that.

Since watching stuff is impossible, I'll prolly tag the people I owe tags to, read some manga, icon whore a bit more and maybe write some when it's not so hot. Might be in the office tomorrow for some more downloading, especially since I plan on going out anyway - I just submitted the final grades for my kids, so I'll have to swing by ADMU and pick up my paycheck.

Mom and Dad are really nice, though - they've given me a bit of money to tide me over for summer. I'll try and make it last for as long as possible, so that I don't withdraw anything else. I don't get paid if I'm not teaching, see. B|

Am contemplating finishing Return on Investment, Bloodsport, my [livejournal.com profile] khrminibang project and the full timeline (plus other things) for Endtimes this summer. I don't want to say that I will or make any guarantees because I need to chillax as much as possible, but the intention is there.

That leads me to the somewhat real purpose of this entry: who else is interested in the full timeline? I mentioned it in my last entry. I'm making a filter, so it's kinda important that I know so that I don't end up polluting your flists with my spazz. XD

--Which reminds me. I should start fixing my blog over on Wordpess and maybe toss in all my academic papers in the academic filter I have down here.
D'oh. I was supposed to post this first thing in the morning, but I woke up at 6:30 AM and decided to pack in some Persona 4 time instead. I've been playing that game for pretty much the whole day, excluding meal time, family time and mass. aldkh;dhgasdgh WHY SO AWESOME, ATLUS.

Right! So! Life updates! This Christmas break has been as busy as the one I had just last year... it might even be busier. @_@

PRIOR TO THE 23RD: IT'S ALL A BLUR catching up on shenanigans, family stuff doing the chocolate buffet thing at the Manila Pen with [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu and [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel and generally relaxing!

December 23: Persona 4 times, Serious Business cramming and a Christmas date at Inyo with [livejournal.com profile] khursten and [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu in the evening! ♥♥♥ I have missed the food there!

December 24 & 25: WRITING AND POSTING FANFICTION AS IF I WERE TO DIE -- I posted everything on this entry, in case you missed out. Oh, and then I had more family stuff! And more Persona 4. orz CAN YOU SEE THE PATTERN SO FAR?

December 26-27: Road trip to Bantangas, where my clan and I stayed at a beach house overlooking Taal lake (thank you very much to you and your family, [livejournal.com profile] omnicresence!). Here, have some bullet points~

  • I was totally wasted on the way there. LACK OF SLEEP DUE TO, IDK, PERSONA 4?
  • The beach house is so pretty. *A* It's P2,000 per person per night there, and the site is lovely and there's a whole lot of space! They can also help arrange for boatmen and tour thingies for you, which makes things so much more convenient if it's your first time in the area. ALSO: THEY HAVE WATER RESISTANT TABLE CLOTHS. JP, Jonat, Raya and I had a hay day pouring stuff over them and watching the droplets turn into little globes on the surface!
  • Cousins brought over board games, the Wii and JP's Super Laptop. Cue Left for Dead (Paolo, Peter and Pio are all hooked now). Cue Last Night on Earth. Cue Pio making Dad a Mii that really looks exactly like Dad + playing rounds upon rounds of Wii tennis against his wife. XD
  • More Dad dorkiness: I caught up trying out Raya's jump rope.
  • asdlgkhl;ashdghdsg I have apparently missed swimming a lot.
  • Everyone stayed downstairs till late cept for Raya and I, so we ended up getting the best spots in the common room - she got a nice corner, and I got the only real bed in the place they set aside for the kids. ANYWAY, I woke up in the middle of the night to my brother Pio and Peter coming in. Their exchange went something like: "...Is that Pam on the bed?" "Yep. Figures." "She's smart!" "--Smart and ruthless." I replied with something nice and fluffy: "Shut up, you assholes, I can hear you."
  • Took a boat ride across the lake first thing in the morning~ got splashed a bit, but that was nothing compared to what happened after. ANYWAY, we were supposed to ride horses up to the ridge of the volcano, but I opted to walk with my cousins. It was a long hike and it was hella tiring, but the scenery and bonding time totally made up for it! X3
  • Boat ride back = better than fucking Log Jam. WAS SOAKED DOWN TO MY UNDERWEAR BUT IT WAS FUCKING GLORIOUS.
  • Crashed once I got home. Sorta. ...Damn you, Persona 4. >_>

That pretty much wraps things up for the moment. I spent all of today cooped up at the house since Dad didn't want me going out to join the group over at the boss' house - I'll be seeing the tomorrow and sleeping over there until the 30th, though, so I suppose that's all right.

--Now to pop some more Ferrero Rocher and see if I can actually finish that Zombie Apocalypse excerpt for Bloodsport before I go to bed.

Spent Saturday out with [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel and [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, where we ate good food and watched Forbidden Kingdom. IDK, PEOPLE, I LIKED IT. I mean, really: how can you go wrong with Jackie Chan and Jet Li in one movie? And, and, it was a nifty take on the whole Journey to the West thing. Or maybe I'm the only one who finds it nifty because I didn't know jack shit about the movie and just watched it because Jackie Chan and Jet Li were both there. *coughs* ANYWAY I LIKED IT.

Of course, beyond the movie there was crack and plotting involved. I gave birth to three new characters, a new pairing and a motherfucking Zombie Attack ala Silent Hill/Resident Evil for Bloodsport. Best thing about the new characters is that I may be able to use them for certain parts of Endtimes. AND TWO OF THEM ARE LIKE MY TRIBUTE TO KATEKYO HITMAN REBORN. *bad fangirl, y/y?*

...Which reminds me: I really have to go over the old profiles and fix them sometime. Yeah. Someday. Uh-huh.

Yukeh and I stayed out til late because the driver had to attend to Peter and my grandma~ that was cool, though, because Yukeh slept over here anyway. Parents and my older brother were out attending a wedding in Pangasinan, so we managed to have another sleepover koushien. For great justice!

Today went by nice and slow. I even managed to sneak in a cigarette. ♥ I may play a bit more of Baroque tomorrow after I get home from doing Ateneo stuff... assuming, of course, that I go out at all. Maybe I'll just run my errands on Wednesday or something. *lazy* I could also spend tomorrow looking for my memory card. It went missing somehow. o_o I'd ask my older brother about it, but he can get annoying to talk to when it comes to stuff like this.

...I really do want to find that memory card though. I mean, if I don't find it, that means I have to restart several games. ._.

[livejournal.com profile] le_esperance, I'm nearly done burning the stuff I owe you. It took a while because of... well, stuff. BUT YEAH. How shall I get it to you? Will we meet up in ADMU?

Hurhur. Might marathon some more animu tonight, and then maybe get some plotting done. If the wrist doesn't start acting up again, I just might start on my birthday gift for Yukeh. 21 FICLETS/DRABBLES/WHATEVERS, YO.

I slept at 3 in the morning because of Jeanne D'arc ([livejournal.com profile] khursten IT'S WONDERFUL I CAN SEE WHY MELZ <33S IT), and I woke up at quarter to 11. Two points:

1.) It was wonderful.
2.) I had a class at 12:30 and getting there on time meant leaving by 11:30. Lulz.

...Okay, I swear this post isn't completely pointless. SEE LOOKIT I HAS DRABBLEAGE!

...On a not-very-random note, I tend not to like people who make posts that go something like "WHAT DO YOU REALLY THINK OF ME? COMMENT HERE, SIGNED OR ANONYMOUS PLZ!". I always get the impression that they're attention-whoring just to get off or whatever, and more often than not, I'm right. :D
Oofuri marathon with [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu + karaoke with [livejournal.com profile] kitsune_jade and [livejournal.com profile] khursten tomorrow! Tis the best way to spend one's weekend, I think. X3

Now to bring out the real reason why some of you are reading this post. @_@

I made my first sortie into Divisoria with [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] synatri, [livejournal.com profile] khursten, [livejournal.com profile] magnetic_rose and [livejournal.com profile] sortinghatlover today! I have but one word to describe the market madeness: CRAZY. I seriously regret not having pictures to post... Divisoria is really a place that one ought to go to for one's self. And the food at 168 was so good. ;A;

Note to self: walking through the market streets of Manila on a weekend = EPIC JOURNEY.

Since my grandmother needed to go to her Church services, I had to leave ahead of the usual LO crew -- took care of dropping [livejournal.com profile] synatri off, and then proceeded to drag [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu to my house, where we ate dinner, plotted even MORE crack and cooled off our heels. I think we're both ready to face the upcoming week now. <33

Parents aren't around, and knowing my brothers I doubt we'll go to mass tomorrow. That, of course, will leave all of Sunday open to PS2 tiem and writing. I think I've finally succeeded in kicking myself back into action, so I plan to milk it for all its worth before I become busy with school again. LIT CONFERENCE IS COMING UP. *death, doom and destruction!*
