Holy crap on a stick, this is what happens when I take the equivalent of 18 units of work between graduate studies and teaching.
I'm learning so much, but I am also definitely dying. And failing to check LJ or update. Again. +_+
(I actually hit the limit of entries I can scroll back to on my flist. Sob, what the hell did I miss?!)
Quick points, though: I did participate in NaNoWriMo this year, and completed it ahead of schedule. I normally post with a lot more fanfare, but I just couldn't get myself to do regular updates this time, even if I kept promising myself that I would...
Sort of resolved to do a regular word count every month from now, but I haven't been able to fulfill that promise just yet out of sheer Busy and Tired. I plan on gunning as soon as I've got a moment to myself.Whenever that will happen, anyway.
My brother who's based in Toronto also turned up like, three weeks ago with his family: none of us were expecting him to visit so soon, including him. His wife's aunt had died out of the blue, so they needed to come home to pay their respects. He was lucky enough to get an extension, though, and stay for a week rather than the in-and-out weekend trip that he was originally planning. I was busy as high hell that week spending as much time as I could with him during that period, of course. ♥
His family's still here, but they'll be flying back to Canada real soon. It was nice, spending time with them.
I'll be in Singapore for a conference by the end of the week, and then it'll be off to Baguio the weekend after that with the family. THEN there's the holiday season. Christmas break is ridiculously short this time around, though, and it won't be long before I'm drowning under requirements again. Am also crossing my fingers on my application to another conference in Singapore, scheduled for February - it's fully funded, which saves me the trouble of scraping funds together. I am so broke these days, it's not funny.
Spent my money well this year, though. Had so much fun, and got so much stuff. I can't say that I regret it.
There's probably more to say, but I think this will do for now.
