Saturday started off on a completely FAIL! note - I was supposed to wake up by 8 so that I could get out by 9 and meet up with [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu early for our girly session. Ended up waking up at 10:40, running around like a headless chicken and getting to Greenhills sometime before 12. orz

STILL, I GOT MY HAIRCUT. AND YUKEH HAS A LOT OF HAIR. \o/

[livejournal.com profile] botling, I have no pictures. Imma sorry? 8D?

Anyway, uh, after the haircut thing, we headed off to Glorietta and rolled around, plotting [livejournal.com profile] theskytides things until the rest of the gang ([livejournal.com profile] khursten, [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel, [livejournal.com profile] 77ws, [livejournal.com profile] lonelybusiness and [livejournal.com profile] ficcentricity) showed up. We ate a late lunch/somewhat dinner at Super Bowl before Monsters vs. Aliens, which was so full of stupid fun I think we all killed ourselves a little after it was finished.

I wanted to head off after that to [livejournal.com profile] laurgasm's birthday party to hook up with the old crowd, but I was pretty wiped out and my parents wanted me early for graduation things. SORRY, GIRLS! ;A; Let's meet up next time, okay?

Slept early as requested, which was A VERY GOOD THING because the graduation mass for my brother's batch was at fucking 7:30 AM (the homily was really nice, though, and the choir was kickass). We all headed home together (Peter wasn't interested in the batch breakfast) and lollygagged at the meal table with Italian bread, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Great food is great. ;3;

Peter and I spent the rest of the afternoon marathoning Supernatural eps 14-16 (WRY DEAN WRY--) before parents hussled us out for the actual graduation ceremony, which was hellafuckinglong and pretty hard to cope with since the gym's not airconditioned and there were over 2,000 people in there. I shouldn't complain too much, though, since I was enjoying my book (McMafia, on globalization and the criminal world) and had a crapload of good ideas for ROI. I think I know how to situate the Vongola Family in an actual "real" framework now. o_o

Grad dinner was done over at Eastwood with the rest of the family + Peter's girlfriend. We got home at a decent time and I really, really intended to go to sleep except I didn't. orz I BLAME THIS ON YOU, [livejournal.com profile] theprerogative! B|

I'm chilling out at home in spite of the heat and the sucky connection because I need to archive my files (MY HARD DRIVE RAN OUT OF SPACE, WTF, THAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE UNPOSSIBLE). The sooner I archive, the sooner I can get to slicing and dicing at my backlog with a katana. Or something like that.

Since watching stuff is impossible, I'll prolly tag the people I owe tags to, read some manga, icon whore a bit more and maybe write some when it's not so hot. Might be in the office tomorrow for some more downloading, especially since I plan on going out anyway - I just submitted the final grades for my kids, so I'll have to swing by ADMU and pick up my paycheck.

Mom and Dad are really nice, though - they've given me a bit of money to tide me over for summer. I'll try and make it last for as long as possible, so that I don't withdraw anything else. I don't get paid if I'm not teaching, see. B|

Am contemplating finishing Return on Investment, Bloodsport, my [livejournal.com profile] khrminibang project and the full timeline (plus other things) for Endtimes this summer. I don't want to say that I will or make any guarantees because I need to chillax as much as possible, but the intention is there.

That leads me to the somewhat real purpose of this entry: who else is interested in the full timeline? I mentioned it in my last entry. I'm making a filter, so it's kinda important that I know so that I don't end up polluting your flists with my spazz. XD

--Which reminds me. I should start fixing my blog over on Wordpess and maybe toss in all my academic papers in the academic filter I have down here.
Things that made me either lol or crack my skull while I was reading my thesis materials:

  • The age of Alistair, my beloved PC. I'm burning stuff for people while I work on my laptop (net connection's more stable on Aidan, apparently), and I'm periodically taking breaks and restarting him every 2-3 discs or so. He's not as young as he used to be. T_T
  • Epic similes. I shit you not. Epic-effing similes. Apparently, it's the formal term for the similes that epic poets use in their words (lulz), and anyone whose read The Illiad can prolly get what I mean here. But lol. To come up with a term. S'like, "You've heard of similes, but have you heard of those mancake fucking text-whooping almighty EPIC SIMILES?!?!?!?!?!"
  • The small growth that is a new pile of notecards on my desk. I don't know whether I should be happy, amused, or scared shitless by it.
  • My brain drawing up diagrams in my head, cross-referencing all the allusions, parallelisms and dialectic stuff stuff between Paradise Lost and Lucifer. Diagrams for books. GOOD GOD, NARRATOLOGY, WRY?
  • Scholars. Tis almost funny reading how they love to contradict each other with nothing but a dead guy's text (and then some) as ammunition . ...And I'll be doing the same soon. Lulz.
  • The small fantasy of mine involving Ghost!Milton floating around, going "I CREATED CONF00SION HUR HUR!" as I do my research.

TALK NERDY TO ME, BEBEH.

After I finish this book, I am going to take a break (read: PS2 + backlogged anime/shows). Then I will see if I can write a few more pages for my thesis.

O gayz. Make sure to remind me if I owe you any burns, or if you want me to burn you anything. Christmas is coming and I'm a poor young writer, so all I can offer is my stash. Just comment with what you want, and I'll see if I has it. :o

On other news, there's word of yet another coup in Makati. LOLLERSKATES.

"Somewhere over the Internet, someone is laughing at you."

Do you guys believe in this statement, because I sure as hell do.

:D

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On other news, I have my PH103 exam in about 2 hours and I know I should be worried/concerned/fretting but I'm not for some reason. I kinda want to get it done with ASAP not so that I can get some huge-ass Stress Weight off my shoulders, but more because I want to go home afterward and play Persona 3 while all the brothers are out of the house. That game amuses me on one account: my main character has more of a social life than I do. XD

Now that I think about it, I'm damned lucky that this is the only thing I have to worry about. My other classes had final paper/final project submissions over exams, and their deadlines were all completed about 1-2 weeks ago. I've basically been on Vacation Mode since Thursday.

...Hence this becomes my one and only post about final exams week. To think I used to post about it so much back in the day. o_O

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And just when I thought it was over, all of my favorite TV shows are bringing out their new seasons.

There's anime to watch too.

WRY.

Request List of Doom is coming out. Look forward to it, friends.

Four words: "Hotel California" in French.

Awesomes.

Oh yeah, and this post already, friends. Christmas draws near, and I would so love to get you all something, at least.

And, delayed reaction: HIIIIIRRRRRROOOOOO!!!!! ;__________;
I suppose there's much to post about, but I'm a little lazy and the ones who matter already know what's been happening on my end. If anyone else needed to know, they're free to ask whenever I see them. :3

Anyway, onto the original reason for this post. This is directed towards the people on my friends list who are interested in the upcoming Yaoi Convention but haven't been following the activity down at the main site's forums.

LIGHTS OUT VENUE CHANGE
Previously we met to hold Lights Out over at Freedom Bar in Greenhills, but due to issues with the ventilation and the fact that we may be expecting even more people in this round than we did in the past two years, we have relegated back to the old location of the convention. Here's the original post from the forums:

Due to issues with climate control at our previously selected venue, we are moving the convention to the venue of the very first LO convention. LO3 will now be held at the basement level of Centro Plaza Condominum, 49 Scout Madrinan, South Triangle, Quezon City from 3PM to 8PM on May 27, 2006.

The new venue is very close to MRT GMA-Kamuning Station, so there will be no problems getting there. We will be providing you with an area map and access instructions as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding and we hope to see you all at the con on May 27!

Guys, this is a building owned by family's corporation, so if you have any issues about getting there, let me or any of the other moderators know. We'd be happy to help you out.

BURNING REQUESTS
I've got a hell lot of discs at stock, so this shout-out goes both to Lights Out members and to friends who are on this list. Here's the original post from the forums:

Due to the influx of requests and potential trades, I am now strongly encouraging people to have something in exchange. We can discuss the matters of transaction over PM messaging or email. I can be reached at zaghiel@yahoo.com.

If you really don't have anything to trade with me, I am asking for a DVD-R disc in exchange for every two CD-Rs or one DVD-R that I burn for you. Also, leave a note here if you're interested in anything. Specify if you want it in CD-R format or in DVD-R format.

MY WISHLIST FOR TRADES )

As for manga, any trade-offs for titles that I don't have (particularly for the yaoi/shounen-ai/doujinshi sections) are welcome.

FOR THE PEOPLE GOING TO LO: Whatever you request from this list will be PRE-BURNED. I'm not going to burn stuff on the day of the convention. @_@ Because of this, I will only accept requests up to Sunday, May 21.

FOR THE FRIENDS OUTSIDE OF LO: I know I owe some people burned stuff, so this is your time to comment and remind me about them.
So I've just about filled up a 100-CD Pudding Case with back-up discs, and I'm not even past the music yet. The last CD for that end is on the burner already though. Huzzah.

I won't talk much about my schedule, just that I (fortunately) got the classes I wanted and as a result I have long breaks and a 7:30-7:30 schedule for Tuesdays and Thursdays unless Sir Pulan has mercy and changes the time slot for Lit 161, which I highly doubt.

Speaking of Sir Pulan. As of this semester, I would've taken 18 units worth of English subjects under him. I could be a minor in Pulanism, if the subject even existed. =_=

Today was Supplies Day. Took a cue from [livejournal.com profile] ezraelandvari after seeing the horrid notebook selection at National Bookstore Quezon City Avenue, and I'll be making my own with aid from the ORP come Monday (FIRST DAY OF CLASSES NO!!!!!!). Bought a 1-1/2 lb bar of Hershey's Dark Chocolate (HEE!). Bought 8 bottles worth of Vodka Cruisers (DOUBLE HEE!!). Read more of Vampire Hunter D.

Nope. Not a very exciting day at all. I did that on purpose, seeing as Monday brings a new semester down on my head. Will spend the rest of my evening on a mad deletion fest clearing my drive of the downloaded songs that didn't turn out so great. XD

Somebody remind me to look for my ID.

To anyone who's interested in my files: Queue up here, please. :3

EDIT:
Thick as Thieves: The Fragile - Chapter Four: Cost of Living / Dirt can be found here. There's a big fat warning on that one. It may break your brain, and has been known to cause nosebleeds. Enjoy? :3
Hapee Birthevening to [livejournal.com profile] ravenel. More power to procrastination. Also, belated to [livejournal.com profile] magnetic_rose. Feels like I haven't seen you in forever again.

I have lost all feeling in my right wrist as a result of running a gauntlet of final exercises for Math 11 tomorrow and re-copying more notes in Lit Crit. The maternal unit saw me studying the moment she stepped into her room, and that made her happy. Whoo me.

Scored an A on the Soul Mountain paper. [livejournal.com profile] ezraelandvari asked me whether the grade was worth the 506-page read and I'm not quite sure how to answer that. Also did the Chinese Lit orals. Ma'am had me pick questions twice, as the first one I picked had to do with Soul Mountain; the second pick yielded the thesis statement I had wanted to discuss. Somebody up there loves me, and I can only hope that love will last up until Thursday. Heck, I hope it peaks by tomorrow. There's Math and Shakespeare tomorrow. :3

Ate out with [livejournal.com profile] makintash, [livejournal.com profile] fruitea and [livejournal.com profile] ezraelandvari at the Chocolate Kiss; it was a Fangirl Session like few others over a very good lunch, in which I dutifully indulged myself and splurged money on the food that the likes of the Ateneo de Manila cafeteria will never see. It's kind of sad how our tuition doesn't seem to include a decent selection to choose from over the school year. <_>

I am finally on the OST-Collectives-[livejournal.com profile] fst section of my playlist. @_@ Pudding case of music coming soon for all the people who wanted to borrow it. You may start queuing for it now, assuming that you've either got mp3s to trade back to me or that I promised you I'd fork it over once I had it.

To all those that wanted stuff burned: A lot of my back-up CDs for some of the anime I have in my collection don't want to burn well. I'll be posting an updated list of the things I have on my hard drive eventually, as I find it easier to rip stuff that's already sitting on my computer. Once I have the list, you guys can skim over it and see what you still want. I can also attempt to make a comprehensive list of the stuff I have in mp3s, but that's going to prove to be EXTREMELY difficult... best to just poke me with the name of a a game/series/show/movie/artist to see whether I have it.

[livejournal.com profile] omnicrescence: I want more comics!

[livejournal.com profile] khursten and [livejournal.com profile] miguel_zeruel: Worried about the both of you. Do drop a line if you guys are still relatively all right.

Who thinks I should change my layout for October?
X-Posted to [livejournal.com profile] reuk_schitz and [livejournal.com profile] stitched_o.

As promised. :3

Feedback appreciated. I hope this'll be worth the read.

Now, to wrestle with schoolwork. There's a paper in Philosophy, a paper and a presentation in Chinese Lit, a paper in Lit Crit and a paper in Theology. There are also people to burn copies of Advent Children for.
