Apologies for the sudden deluge of RPlurk-related archive posts on LJ, all~ I finally got around to fixing all the backlogged threads, and it can't fit into a single post. o_o

This week has been pretty light so far~ today is notable because I had graded recitation in Lit 13, and it was actually pretty lively. Several nice conversations cropped up in the smoket too.

There's work to do, but all is well. Going to the office tomorrow to put in that day that I've been promising the people down there for nearly two months.

Seriously. All is well. Seems as though I've recovered from that small rut I had over the weekend.

Er. That's all. QUICK POSTS ARE QUICK.

[livejournal.com profile] new_treasures has released the first chapter of "Kinou Nani Tabeta?", a seinen manga by Yoshinaga Fumi!

Don't let the "seinen" part fool you, though. It's Fumi, so expect some gay.

Interested parties may download it over HERE! Please support us, and add us if you want to follow our projects! We're also looking for help with future releases. ♥

My personality type: the energetic doer
extroverted, practical, logical, spontaneous, resolved, direct, objective, conscientious, attentive, likes taking risks, cheerful, impulsive, optimistic, sociable, enthusing, full of the joys of life, aggressive, inconsiderate, dynamic, lively, rash, competition-oriented, action-loving, energetic, charming, superior, solution-oriented, adventurous, go-ahead, changeable, outgoing

...What an interesting test. It's actually more accurate than the usual ones I've seen floating around.

In spite of what I said in my last entry, I ended up sleeping sometime before midnight. >_> Woke up hella groggy, but I managed to drag myself back out to Ateneo for the next teaching workshop. It actually started late because no one came in on time... if I had known they'd do that, I would've slept in. =_= Y halo thar, real life.

This teaching workshop wasn't as lively as the first one, but it was still extremely helpful and very enlightening -- I've got a lot of ideas on how to do my syllabi now, but I still can't say that I'm completely confident about things. Oh, and I met even more smoket buddies cool people among my colleagues. I don't remember the last time I had so much fun during lunch. I think I surprised them with the amount of food that I ate though.

There was supposed to be an afternoon session on teaching English 12, but since I won't be teaching that this sem I decided against going there in favor of enrolling for my classes.

Schedule + Gabs ABOUT said schedule. )

So. Incredibly. Sleepy. Thank god for the fact that I finished my registration -- that leaves tomorrow open to sleep in, run around for some last-minute shopping and kick back to do my syllabus while I wait for evening to come. ♥

...LJ icons will be the end of me, I swear. I nearly slept at 1 AM because I was deleting/fixing/shuffling the damned things in my collection, but I had to force myself up before 8 AM because I had work. SNWS conversations with [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel and the usual office banter between my Dad, my brother and my relatives sustained me though. Pio told us all about The Toilet Saga, which will likely be the first of many everyday trials he'll face now that he's married. XD

So, let's see -- I set up a blog for the company personnel at my Dad's request, then I generally lolled about, poking people on y!m and watching my downloads fill out (the direct cable connection has miraculously started working again). I tried to get some writing done, but most of my time was spent plotting weird stuff and talking gay with Lynffles. We keep each other alive on weekdays, yo. ♥

Relatives are over for dinner, but Mom gave me the license to retreat upstairs already. I'm going to see if I can go out tomorrow and meet up with [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu and [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel though... it's a bit short notice, but Lynffles won't be available this weekend. She also needs to get away from her weird relatives.

Part of being the office means being able to mooch off the bandwidth, so here's moar music for you guys. XD

Special Mix: Sadface Songs - The Polite Version (SET TWO) )

[Poll #1190933]

I was inspired to do this by [livejournal.com profile] lonelybusiness and [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel, and by the fact that I actually haven't uploaded music for a long time. If you guys have other suggestions that don't fit into the ticky-boxes up there, or if you have specific fanmix requests, just comment with them. :o

Didn't bother writing up an entry yesterday because I was busy fixing Alistair v2.0 up... I am happy to report that he is fully functional, and all my programs are up and running. Downloads are up to speed too. Subjected the PC to my usual Test of Time by leaving him on the whole night, and when I woke up to check his tempterature, the case was still as cool as ice. :D

After Alistair!PC was properly souped up, I broke my brain over fixed Aidan!Laptop up -- he's been in dire need of repartitioning, since Windows XP eats up a crapload of space and 10 GB just isn't enough for the main drive anymore. That kept me up pretty late the other night (had to transfer files, and there was some confusion with the partitioning program), BUT OTHERWISE, I AM TRIUMPHANT. Now I don't need to drag Maes!ExternalHD over to the office in order to do downloads there~

With both of those out of the way, I'll have to turn my attentions to Kaien!PC (formerly Alistair v1.0) and fix him up, as I had promised my Dad. That's not a problem at all, though: Ubuntu is SO much easier to fix than Windows, and my Dad doesn't want any specific program on the thing just yet.

Woke up late in the morning (TECHNOLOGY, THIS IS WHAT YOU DO TO ME), so I pretty much had to eat breakfast and hop right into the car in order to go to Medical City with my Mom -- the endocrinologist we were referred to is finally back in the country, so it's high time that we checked with her regarding The Thyroid Drama.

Hospital talk and randomness relevant to that. )

The rest of the day. )

I've got an early morning appointment at the skin clinic to do the usual upper lip hair-zapping ritual -- Mom won't be with me this time, though, since she and Dad are heading over to Batangas tomorrow. I'll be going to the office afterward in order to make up for the day I missed.

[livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, THANK YOU FOR RENEWING MY PAID ACCOUNT, BUT NOW I HAVE FIVE EXTRA ICON SLOTS AND I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THEM YET. D8 Or maybe I do, but that entails fixing my folders. Again.

This post was supposed to have my shot at the Text-based Paranoia Meme attached to it, but I think I've written enough for the night. Somebody remind me to continue uploading my backlogged drabbles to [livejournal.com profile] stitchedophelia and to my FF.net account tomorrow. @_@

The comments on my latest post have given me a rough idea of what it is like for [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu on a regular basis. SPAMMING IS AMAZING. LOOKIT ALL THESE MESSAGES IN MY INBOX! D8

And on other LJ news, I really need to renew my paid account soon. ._.

I literally spent all of yesterday lying flat on my back in bed/slouched in my office chair in front of my laptop/rocking back and forth in the rocking chair in my parent's room/at the meal table, playing Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth on the PSP. THAT GAME HAS SWALLOWED ME WHOLE.

Cut for geek talk. )

I've lost a good night of sleep to this game in spite of the fact that I said I'd go to bed early. =_= Curse good games and their effect on my body clock!

I'm taking a break to write this post and idle, after having a sudden deluge of work to do at the office. LAN cable is still not working, but the wireless has gotten godly fast now that the weather is kinda-sorta clearing up down here. o_o I also need to slow down and idle soon, because I'll be leaving the office early. Heading to Greenbelt to meet Yukeh and Khursten! :3

...Not that I wasn't already idling earlier. [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel was subjected to the Long-Short Summary of the final and total revamp of Endtimes over y!m. GOMEN NYAA, LYNFFLES, I HOPE IT WAS WORTH READING.
Went back to the office today~ it was kinda annoying, though, because the LAN cable I use to directly connect to the teh awesome godly office intarwebz connection was jacked for some reason. u_u Ended up subsiding on the wireless, but that wasn't really bad because it's actually a little slower but a little more stable than my direct connection at home.

...I should be disturbed by that, shouldn't I?

Uh, anyway, work's been slow, so I spent most of my time oggling P4 with [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel, chatting with [livejournal.com profile] khursten (I assaulted her first -- I need material for a D18 fic I'm planning! [livejournal.com profile] ficcentricity, IT'S THAT ONE! *A*) and bugging [livejournal.com profile] synatri. I also managed to get a whole bunch of drabbles done; most of them are for [livejournal.com profile] kitsune_jade (her birthday's coming up) and a few are for the people who pwned me in this meme.

I also whored some long overdue DDL manga links. I had to be careful, though: the front pages of the sites I was downloading for were SNFWS!

...I was yawning the whole day. I think I better sleep early tonight.

Fandom bitch moment of the day: Wat. Wtf is an Oofurian. More importantly, WTF IS THAT ART IT'S UGLY.

Have a meme, people.

Name a character (or real person) and I'll give you
(a) three facts about them from my personal fanon,
(b) a reason he/she sucks,
(c) a reason he/she is awesome,
(d) five things that never happened to that character/real person,
(e) five people that character/real person did/refused to fall in love with and how. Have at it!

EDIT: OH SHIT I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THIS IS MY 666TH ENTRY.

Before all else, here's an important announcement on LIGHTS OUT, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] magnetic_rose:

Lights Out would like to invite all Filipino yaoi fans to the the 5th Lights Out: Five Years of Fantasy! The convention will be held on the 6th of September 2008 at Ikeda Hall/Balay Kalinaw (next to Ilang-Ilang Residence Hall), University of the Philippines Diliman Campus, Quezon City. Festivities will start at 1:00 PM and will wrap up at 7:00 PM.

Tickets to the convention are pegged at PhP 150 each (inclusive of single-use event badge and Library pass), while tickets to Cafe Le Mirage are at PhP 80 each (inclusive of one half-hour tea set). Please visit the Events page for more information.

You can blame my long absence on me getting re-acquainted with my PS2. [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel was kind enough to burn me the undubbed version of Persona 3: FES (I actually downloaded it myself, but my image burner popped out faulty discs! ;_;). Unfortunately, since my memory card is STILL missing, I can't take advantage of all the work I did in the original version of the game. That means that I'm starting from scratch with P3, and I have to do things the hard way in the Aigis chapter of the game. >_> It's starting to get annoying.

Lesee, what other cool stuff has happened... my parents came home from Batangas on Sunday (big relief: crazy brother was starting to seriously get to me), and I got to COMPLETELY veg out like anything yesterday (read: PS2). Most of my time at work was devoted to fixing up my Dad's account on Multiply -- he wanted me to upload the pictures we took in Batanes so that we can tell the rest of the tour group about it. I also went out, briefly, to cash in my check for the time I put in last month. I think I can buy my new PC very, very soon. :D

...That's assuming that I don't make any other big investments in the next few days, though. I'm half-inclined to hit Data Blitz and check if they have FES out on original. There's also the fact that I need to get myself an original of Crisis Core: mine has started stalling on me, particularly whenever a summon DMW comes out. ._. And, of course, buying Crisis Core means that I'm obligated to buy Final Fantasy Tactics, since I'm a collector that way. AH, SO DIFFICULT.

Gamer and money woes aside, what's probably the best and scariest thing that happened today was that Ateneo's English Department phoned in: since the chair of the department knows me, I don't need to go through an interview with her. They want me to do demo teaching. Like, soon. o_o They actually wanted me to do it this coming Thursday, but I said I wasn't ready. But yeah. Fuck. O_O

It's semi-amusing that the teaching thing popped up before the results of my grad studies application though.

ON OTHER NEWS: [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, your Lolichan is being stupid again. She signed up for the mini-bang at [livejournal.com profile] hitman_reborn even though she's never actually written anything or posted any of her fics online. Now half of me wishes that she'll submit an entry just so that I can smack her. :D
BEFORE ALL ELSE:

[livejournal.com profile] kitsune_jade, your birthday is coming up. Please compile a list of prompts/characters/pairings/ideas that you'd like me to write as a part of your birthday gift. You have 28 drabbles, give or take a few according to a length. And sorry, no, I don't think I'll be able to do your crossovers. ^_^;

ALSO!

Answer this meme if you ♥♥♥ me!

Slow, slow day at the office... I spent it mooching off the bandwidth fixing the files that were dumped on me last week. Nothing new went up, but once everything is fixed, it'll be busy again. Of course, the REAL highlight was the internet connection itself down there - my torrents were fucking wild. I must've downloaded at least 20 80-350 MB files while I was there today. I wish my connection at home was that snazzy. D:

There was also that short but nice conversation I had with [livejournal.com profile] laurgasm, prompted by one of her posts on Twitter. See, apparently, this chick made it on national television for... and drumroll please:

For keeping a "paper journal". Aka, notebook. Aka, doing the remarkable thing of writing with a pen and paper in this fast-paced, modernized world.

Oh, Philippines. You have reached a whole new level of illiteracy.

That said. How's about somebody pay ME big bucks for scribbling in my notebooks? Maybe somebody should make a Pinky of me while they're at it. :D

Going back to ADMU tomorrow.

DO NOT WANT!!!111oneoneone

Okay, so maybe I'm not THAT averse to trudging back on campus, given the fact that I kinda sorta have to. I'm still missing that last recommendation letter, and this is my only real chance to submit my requirements since I'll be in Batanes from Friday until Monday. There's also that small issue of submitting my application to the ADMU English Department. *crosses her fingers* [livejournal.com profile] pyrosinferno has given me a lot of support and tips in that direction, but who knows what'll happen, right? I'll just have to hope for the best. B|

Band of the moment: 65daystofstatic. They sound like the love child of Bloc Party, Mogwai and the Mars Volta. I haven't been this into an instrumental band since... well, since a long way back.

For serious. With titles like "Welcome to the Times", "Aren't We Still Running?", "Drove Through Ghosts to Get Here" and "I Swallowed Hard, Like I Understood", how can you go wrong?

What's funny about this band is that I discovered them through rabid downloading of KHR fan soundtracks.

Not so randomly: Paolo hung around the office today.

We're living in the same house, and we'll probably end up studying on the same campus. Now, even my work place isn't safe.

Our paths have crossed far too much for comfort lately.
