NaNoWriMo Official Status Report Number Six

IT'S SPANNER TIME.

44395 / 125000 words. 36% done!

--iyeah, I finally decided to adjust the word count meter for my personal goal, since I can't adjust the one over at the official site. That's still a VERY TENTATIVE number, but given the fact that ROI is meant to have three parts to it and I'm nearly at 50,000 words without even vaguely seeing the end of the first part isn't exactly encouraging. ;w; Anyway, life updates.

MONDAY:

Went out to Rockwell and met up with [livejournal.com profile] anothermiyaw and [livejournal.com profile] dreamlessness -- we were supposedly there to go into ADMU Professional Schools, since it's such a shiny building and we've always been curious about how it looks from the inside for a book launch, but we didn't actually stay. XD; Wandered around Rockwell, where B and I were very concerned about Mia and how she was bound to sugarcoma from all the cake that B and I fed her in Starbucks. Later saw [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu and talked ROD things, among others. :3

Was feeling ill for most of the afternoon due to the heat, my period and the fact that I was pretty much on my feet since 6 AM. Got home raring to work anyway, in which I discovered that I seriously don't know how to take it easy anymore. Thank god for friends who stick by and gently remind me to breathe just before I forget.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] anothermiyaw re-filled the time on my LJ icons. ILU LONG TIME, MIA. And I am so broke, it kinda ain't funny.

TUESDAY:

Holed myself up in my room to check all the papers from my kids! I've... got my work cut out for me. Will have to adjust my game plan according to what these students need, based on the fact that they're coming in from Basic English. I'm considering doing more consultations and being a little more elaborate with my feedback.

I think I am finally getting a hang of this teacher thing. The lectures I've been doing so far have been pretty smooth, and I find it easier to manage the classroom each time I step in. Am also able to juggle more stuff and organize my things and my thoughts better. o_o Here's hoping that this will actually bear positive results.

Was supposed to have Spec Fic class, but it ended up canceled. Typed out my previous entry while I was waiting in the car. Experienced a case of EXTREME EXHAUSTION and EXTREME LAZINESS later in the evening, which prompted me to dole out a free cut. I figure I can afford it, if only to take a breather before the real shit hits the fan.

TODAY:

--was supposed to be NaNoWriMo Day, but I ended up wasting half of it due to mod stuff for Serious Business and the feedback that was coming in regarding several things that I've applied to myself early on this week. I'm writing this partially because I need to seriously take a break from wrestling with this one scene for over six hours. D18, Y U DO DIS TO ME.

Will spend tomorrow NaNo-ing also. I really want to see if I can finish 50,000 words before Sunday. Probably not, but it's worth a shot, right?

New intarwebz term to throw around: MICRO PORNING. Like micro-blogging (see Twitter and Plurk) and IM logging for an RP, but not. ...And my friends insist that it is a very real talent of mine. orz

Christmas post to follow. It's... actually long overdue too.
NEW LAYOUT! NEW PROFILE!

O Hibachuu: y so moe? X3

I think it's safe to say that my "vacation" officially started yesterday; skipped out on my niece's birthday because I was feeling reclusive, and although I really should've dropped in, I don't want to say that I regret it in the least. From the looks of it, I seriously need some Me Time.

Sunday was pretty uneventful: today was the exact opposite. Slept late due to plotting shenanigans with [livejournal.com profile] khursten (D18 Kink is Serious Kink, okay!), and ended up getting jostled awake by my mom at 9:45 AM -- exactly 15 minutes past the time that we were supposed to leave for the hospital. I pretty much stumbled out of bed and "bwuh?"-ed my way through the waiting and through the appointment.

Thyroid Dramu Update: latest scans show I'm clear, but my doctor is, of course, still adamant on me getting the operation. She's not pushy, though, which is cool; she even suggested several sites that I can browse regarding alternative methods of treatment, just in case I really don't want to do the whole Cut Myself Open And Sing While They Take My Thyroid Gland Out thing. She mentioned the fact that the papillary could easily spread to my lungs, which, of course, is important to me given the fact that I smoke. Still ambivalent towards quitting the habit though -- I enjoy it too much, and as I've told many of my friends, smoking has done more than just given me a form of stress relief.

Went off to ADMU after that because I really need my last paycheck for the semester and my Mom kinda wanted to see my cubicle (which she did, along with meeting some of my colleagues). I'll have to go back on Wednesday to see if the Department secretaries are finally available.

Managed to snag some R&R time at home before heading off to Makati to meet with [livejournal.com profile] lonelybusiness, [livejournal.com profile] ficcentricity, [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] 77ws, [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel and [livejournal.com profile] khursten. AWESOME CHOCOLATE COMA CAKE IS AWESOME. *staaaaaaares at [livejournal.com profile] factorielle* 8D

Lemme do some quick and brutal updates on why I've been so out of it and what's in store for me in the next semester.

  • I spent pretty much all of last week checking the crapload of student works and exams that I've accumulated since the end of August -- that ought to explain why I've only been visible on Plurk and y!m rather than LJ. I'm still reeling from all that text, so you'll have to excuse me if I fail at anything that has to do with writing and archiving for a bit. +_+
  • I am not kidding when I say that I won't have a semestral break -- I might even be digging my own grave by forcing myself to take this week off. I have lesson plans to make and preparations to do regarding the graduate studies units that I need to take up this coming semester. I've also got duties to fulfill for the committees that I'm in over at the faculty (i.e. editing scholarly journals, fixing the formatting on some literary criticism papers, canvassing for potential text books). orz Teaching is serious business, yo.
  • The papers I was referring to in this post are for classes that I'm still waiting for word about, so I really don't want to post them until I'm sure that they didn't suck. Something tells me that I'm going to end up posting them anyway, given the fact that some of you guys are breathing down my neck about reading them. *crai* I might contact some scholars and professors abroad about reviewing them, depending on the results.

Now, about fandom life. I have but one thing to say: I HAVEN'T BEEN UNPRODUCTIVE, JUST PRODUCTIVE IN THE WRONG WAYS! My logs over at [livejournal.com profile] reborn_biz can testify to that, along with the fact that I have been making headway with my animu and icon backlog. Natsume Yuujinchou made me wibble lots, and Bounen no Xam'dou totally fucking OWNS me. If you haven't seen those series yet, I DEMAND THAT YOU WATCH THEM NOW.

Also, I've said it once and I'll say it again: I HATE YOU ALL FOR MAKING ME ITCH TO FANFIC. I NEED MY TIME FOR OTHER USELESS THINGS, OKAY. But expect ficcing soon. I WILL WRITE WITH MY DYING WILL.

[livejournal.com profile] redmoonmurder, please poke me regarding mod shenanigans. I will be home tomorrow, so you can whip me into working if it pleases you. ♥

NaNoWriMo in ten days.

I, uh, kinda want to shoot myself.

On the other hand, Return on Investment, here I come, bb. TIME TO SHOW SOME OF THOSE BITCHES HOW TO DO THE KHR ORGY RIGHT, DAMN IT. *coughcoughFlamesandFamilycough*

THIS WEEKEND WAS AMAJING. THANK YOU, PHILIPPINE KOUSHIEN!

I know I should post more about everything that happened (crazy shopping, crazy talking, crazy car rides, crazy bed breaking, crazy cooking, crazy bitchery, crazy--), but I think the combination of my cold and the Pepsi Deluxe can I just drank down is making me giddy and high and not all that capable of being detailed about things.

FREEDOM IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER.

WATCH ME RP ON PLURK AND LJ AND TOTALLY IGNORE THE FACT THAT I STILL HAVE A PAPER TO WRITE AND STUDENT WORK TO CHECK.

\o \o/ o/

Also: BOSS, YOUR BUNNIES ARE THE CUTEST THINGS ON EARTH.

Advertising this again because srsly: WE NEED a Tsuna MORE PLAYERS.

Serious Business
Premise
There are three publishing companies you need to know in Namimori. They market all over the world, you see. They are the Vongola & Associates, a publishing company that markets children's and young adult fiction. Because, you know, that stuff sells. Sometimes, textbooks too, since all the Vongola ever want to do is satisfy the need for books for children and young adults, may it be for leisure or education. The Millefiore&Co., who have recently published several award winning novels and non-fiction stories. They have branched out to try to corner the market on everything but text books. Last but not the least, the Varia, a start up company that specializes in erotic magazines and collections of erotic short stories. But they are also known for producing books and magazines on fashion, trends and pop culture. It's just that once you start publishing ero magazines, everyone thinks that's all you publish.

Now, what does this have to do with you?

Welcome to the world of Publishing. You either work for one (or all, if you're a freelancer) of the above companies as a writer, an editor, a translator, heck, you might just even be a janitor or a board member. Or, you work for Kokuyo, the local bookstore. It doesn't matter which place you work for-- Publishing is serious business.

Please to be pimping as many times as possible on your own flists and comms? ;_;

I seriously love all of the people who have signed up and participated in our craziness so far. I HAVE PLOT BUNNIES FUCKING IN MY HEAD AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE SHIT THAT GOES ON IN THE LJ THREADS THERE.
And today, I was productive in all the wrong ways.

...Sort of. I actually did do a lot of coordination, uploading and e-mails for my classes, and I'm more or less prepared for the lessons that I need to give to my kids.

BUT YOU'RE PROBABLY NOT READING THIS POST TO KNOW ABOUT THAT. XD

As I said in my last post, It's been a really, really long time since I've made a music post. I've decided to rectify that by posting some of my backlog.

STATUS REPORT:
As the people who follow me on Plurk would know, I'm still in the process of constructing several fanmixes/playlists for some of my favorite series, with KHR taking the cake since the series has too many damned pairings that demand attention. I've also got some backlog for the general mixes (like the ones posted above this one) that's yet to be posted.

For those of you who want to see a sample of the mixing I'll be doing for KHR, I've posted up a sampler of my D18 (that's Dino x Hibari) fanmix on Muxtape.

I'll try and be more consistent with music posts from here on. orz

On other updates, I updated the following RPlurk pages:

We're still looking for players, so if anyone on my flist is interested, please let me know. ;w;

And now for even MORE productivity: links to the backlogged fanfics that I've finished but haven't posted until now!

Ookiku Furikabutte: Five ways to die trying (Toseifaggotry)
Katekyo Hitman Reborn!: In fire and in blood (80-59-18)

There's more where that came from, but I'm lazy to format the others at the moment~

Another long weekend's up on the horizon, and I'm feeling pretty good~!

Apologies for the sudden deluge of RPlurk-related archive posts on LJ, all~ I finally got around to fixing all the backlogged threads, and it can't fit into a single post. o_o

This week has been pretty light so far~ today is notable because I had graded recitation in Lit 13, and it was actually pretty lively. Several nice conversations cropped up in the smoket too.

There's work to do, but all is well. Going to the office tomorrow to put in that day that I've been promising the people down there for nearly two months.

Seriously. All is well. Seems as though I've recovered from that small rut I had over the weekend.

Er. That's all. QUICK POSTS ARE QUICK.

No music just yet because I'm really, REALLY lazy about making the link-ups and writing the blurbs, BUT I BRING WRITING? Just to show that I haven't been completely useless. ~_~

Endtimes. Make war, not love. [Aidan Clayce]

SO THERE. PLURK ISN'T THE ONLY THING I DO ON MY PC THESE DAYS OKEY.

Since I didn't get to post about Thursday due to my need to show off this blathering idiot (who, by the way, never replied), I'll explain it here: that was the death anniversary of Lolo Peralejo, and even though I was supposed to have attended this Read or Die meeting thing with [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu and [livejournal.com profile] lonelybusiness, I guess he really wanted me to come around and join the family because the meeting was canceled and stuff. Anyway, it was good because I managed to talk with relatives whom I haven't seen in a while, meditate a bit in the prettiness that is the Libingan ng Mga Bayani and buy books. PRIVILEGE OF THE SWORD, I CAN FINALLY HAS IT? And it's a decent read too. *nearly done!*

Friday went along swimmingly~ [livejournal.com profile] archangel_dream even dropped in to visit me! Weekend was absolutely lovely~ classes went well, and I got to see [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] lonelybusiness and [livejournal.com profile] ficcentricity. ♥ Today was nice and easy too, since I didn't have to give my En11 classes a formal lecture and the story I picked out for my Lit13 class was easy to discuss (It's Faulker's A Rose for Emily -- go figure).

On other news, I GOTS MAH PAY. *is politely ignoring the fact that tax took out a sizeable amount from it* And to make my day even more awesome, some of my D18 fics managed to make it to this ongoing D18 fic recommendations page on LJ. Weather is nice and chilly too. Good vibes all around!

I think I will spend tomorrow trying to catch up on the Ginormous Stack of Papers that I still need to check for my kids students, archiving more threads from the KHR Plurk Crew, writing fanfic (because it's been way too long and school + teacherly work + RPing on the Plurk circles is making my Muse itchy) and generally chillaxing. I should prolly fuss over my LJ layouts and LJ icons, but that takes a lot of time.

Plurk has permanently ruined my ability to make long posts, hasn't it? SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!! DDDDD:
Spent today at home, recovering (persistent headache + I've been on the brink of coming down with something for a while now) and working on all my backlogged work. BUT AT LEAST I HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW FOR THAT WON'T BORE YOU GUYS.

ATTENTION PLZ, ALL INTERESTED RPERS.

OKAY. As some of you may already be aware, [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu and I started a Plurk Crew for three of our favorite fandoms: Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Ookiku Furikabutte and Gintama. I play the following characters:

Hibari Kyouya (KHR)
Toshiro Hijikata (Gintama)
Haruna Motoki (Oofuri)
Takase Junta (Oofuri)

Yukeh is handling Abe for Oofuri, Katsura for Gintama and Ryohei for KHR. Lynffles is our Tsuna for KHR, and Khursten is my Dino for KHR; she's also she's juggling Gintoki, Okita and Kondou for Hijikata torturing goodness on the Gintama thread.

JOIN IN THE MADNESS. WE DEMAND IT. Besides, I really, really want a Rio. And a Yama-chan. And a Goku. And maybe Kazu.
