Spent Saturday out with [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel and [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, where we ate good food and watched Forbidden Kingdom. IDK, PEOPLE, I LIKED IT. I mean, really: how can you go wrong with Jackie Chan and Jet Li in one movie? And, and, it was a nifty take on the whole Journey to the West thing. Or maybe I'm the only one who finds it nifty because I didn't know jack shit about the movie and just watched it because Jackie Chan and Jet Li were both there. *coughs* ANYWAY I LIKED IT.

Of course, beyond the movie there was crack and plotting involved. I gave birth to three new characters, a new pairing and a motherfucking Zombie Attack ala Silent Hill/Resident Evil for Bloodsport. Best thing about the new characters is that I may be able to use them for certain parts of Endtimes. AND TWO OF THEM ARE LIKE MY TRIBUTE TO KATEKYO HITMAN REBORN. *bad fangirl, y/y?*

...Which reminds me: I really have to go over the old profiles and fix them sometime. Yeah. Someday. Uh-huh.

Yukeh and I stayed out til late because the driver had to attend to Peter and my grandma~ that was cool, though, because Yukeh slept over here anyway. Parents and my older brother were out attending a wedding in Pangasinan, so we managed to have another sleepover koushien. For great justice!

Today went by nice and slow. I even managed to sneak in a cigarette. ♥ I may play a bit more of Baroque tomorrow after I get home from doing Ateneo stuff... assuming, of course, that I go out at all. Maybe I'll just run my errands on Wednesday or something. *lazy* I could also spend tomorrow looking for my memory card. It went missing somehow. o_o I'd ask my older brother about it, but he can get annoying to talk to when it comes to stuff like this.

...I really do want to find that memory card though. I mean, if I don't find it, that means I have to restart several games. ._.

[livejournal.com profile] le_esperance, I'm nearly done burning the stuff I owe you. It took a while because of... well, stuff. BUT YEAH. How shall I get it to you? Will we meet up in ADMU?

Hurhur. Might marathon some more animu tonight, and then maybe get some plotting done. If the wrist doesn't start acting up again, I just might start on my birthday gift for Yukeh. 21 FICLETS/DRABBLES/WHATEVERS, YO.
I've been trying to go to sleep early since this weekend, and I've kinda-sorta succeeded at it... today was annoying though, because my brother (the crazy one, who else?) got up sometime during the whee hours of the morning to pace-pace-pace-rap-the-walls-pace-pace-pace-rap-the-walls just outside the corridor of the room I've been sleeping in ever since the summer heat came around. -_- Spent most of the morning feeling ill, but I recovered in the end anyway.

The Internet connection in the office was, for the first time since I've started working there, incredibly shitty. As in, it was at the "I barely got to get any work done" level of shitty. I managed to do SOME things whenever it stabilized, but I gave up sometime after lunch and settled for doing my personal essay for Ateneo (they require one of people applying for grad studies there, lolol) and buggering [livejournal.com profile] khursten.

WHICH LEADS ME TO MY NEXT QUESTION!

Take note of Luzon (that's the northern island; the one with Manila in it), folks, and tell me: If you were to take a flying fortress that's roughly the size of Pampanga (or maybe Bulacan, but Bulacan is significantly bigger) and crash land it, where in Luzon should it land? This is relevant to Endtimes interests.

Oh, another jewel from [livejournal.com profile] khursten: I'M ON A FUCKING WIKI. I AM MILDLY AMUSED AND SOMEWHAT HORRIFIED BY THIS. Run a search for yourselves on that site, flist ficcers, and see if they've pooped out an article for you. D:

Speaking of anime/manga stuff... wtf is with anime this quarter? EVERYTHING IS SO BLOODY SHINY. L-like, Macross Frontier and Soul Eater and-- guh. Just guh. TOO MUCH PRETTY.

Righto. Will kick back and save icons and do the downloads I wasn't able to do. I can't believe my connection is stable here. o_O Or maybe I'm speaking too soon. I'll have to go out tomorrow for more grad studies stuff. Can you believe that Ateneo pings their applicants P555 for what's basically an IQ test?

Is it just me, or has the Internet suddenly gotten universally crappy down here? I mean, I'm finally not downloading some huge-ass file off BT, so I can effectively snatch stuff from DDL sites, but browsing has been strangely difficult. o_o ...Anyway.

Had my first regular day at school since I got back from my immersion, and I was greeted by a quiz in Theology 141 (which I totally failed) and a thesis class session wherein Sir DM had those who were ready submit their "final draft" before D-Day. He also proceeded to chew out those who weren't in the clear, and outline both the flow of the actual defense and exactly what was expected of us in terms of conference requirements. As of this moment, I am certain that I will be presenting my paper as a part of Panel 6 on either February 20 or 22 at the Natividad Galang Fajardo Room, Dela Costa Building. Mark your calendar, folks... I think you're all welcome to come and watch.

Righto. So I know I ought to be a little more freaked, but to be honest I only get a little twitchy when I'm sitting with the lit block, discussing thesis matters with Sir DM himself. I guess I could say that I'm very confident about my thesis -- I mean, I've run it by both Sir DM and Sir Vince (my mentor), and both of them say that it's already good. I think at this point it's just a matter of making sure I do even better than just good, and hoping to God that I don't get bitchy readers. I've already anticipated what some of t

On that note, I will be posting my thesis under a filtered f-lock soonish. I'll need people to read through it and help me condense the paper, as one of the pre-conference requirements is an extremely condensed version of our thesis that clocks in at about 8-10 pages -- perfect for a 20-minute presentation with a supplementary Powerpoint.

Beyond the thesis freak outs and Theology massive failures, I hooked up with [livejournal.com profile] archangel_dream, who showered me with chocolate chip cookies and more moneyz for the PSP Fund. I'll be cashing in my check from work soon, so I'm very, VERY close to my goal... if I scrimp over the next 2-3 weeks, I should be able to hop over to Greenhills and buy me a PSP before the lit conference. *fufufu*

My head was full of thesis by the time I got home, so the trip over to Pio's apartment was a very refreshing change of scenery -- Peter's birthday became a sorta excuse for everyone to get together there, since my Tito Lorrie and Tita Faye will be returning to the USA very soon. We celebrated with popcorn, tortilla chips and Toblerone fondue while Peter rolled around on Mai Mai and Pio's guest bed. Kid's tuckered out from all that parting, I think.

Other small victories include:

1.) Getting more dermatological gunk for my skin because I might as well have a clean face since I haven't been exercising.
2.) Backing up the 22 GB of Hentai titles that I kept from the original 53 GB download.
3.) Sorting more of my music.
4.) Nearly finishing my Darker than Black fanfic. Give me a bit more time; I may be able to wrap it up by the end of the week.
5.) Bonding with Liana. She's such a tough kid, but she does seem to like me. :3

Going back to work tomorrow. Dad won't be around (he's going scuba diving in Batangas again), but I think Pio will be, along with some of my aunts and uncles.
THE GOOD NEWS: My family is pushing for my grandfather to be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, with full honors as a World War II veteran. This will leave my Saturday open for NWA (will prolly have to charter my own way there and back though), and I won't miss my Dev of Fiction class.

THE NOT-SO-GOOD NEWS: If this really pushes through, then the funeral has been moved to Tuesday. I will end up missing Comics Class, and the presentation we were supposed to have of our original characters and the final project we're supposed to do.

And on other things... )

Staying home tonight -- there's stuff to watch, things to edit, a book to read and school work to do. For the moment, however, I'm going to go back to watching Kekkaishi and crossing my fingers for Devil May Cry 3. The past two episodes have been rather... disappointing.
Because [livejournal.com profile] team7 asked, and because Endtimes has found a home there.

India and the Conundrum is an online serial for original fiction put together by [livejournal.com profile] team7. It's beyond a regular web magazine, as it provides a lot of interactive features, such as review & rating options, quick printing, RSS feeds and plans for a forum where readers can meet writers can meet editors. Come and visit the webbie for yourselves, and plug it like crazy if you love us~~

Beyond plugging, [livejournal.com profile] team7 has also aired a wishlist for India, as it is in need of the following, lifted from her LJ:

1. New serials -- If you've got a multi-chapter story which you would be interested in sharing (for free), please consult the submission guidelines at the site.

2. Illustrators -- Preferably each chapter will be posted with at least one illustration every month (after the fashion of light novel serializations, you could say). Also preferably, there will be one artist illustrating for one serial/author.

3. Editors -- I'm sorry, I don't really have time to edit or exhaustively proofread every chapter submitted. I will at the moment be processing submissions for new serials and will be reading each chapter before uploading and suggesting cosmetic edits when necessary. (There are particular guidelines to accepting an editorial position; please visit the site for details)

And yet ANOTHER plug: READ OR DIE!!!! ...Donate to it or die too. Hee.

I have lost 2 DVD discs and counting to DVD burning weirdness on Ubuntu. *mourns*

Have I mentioned that Battlestar Galactica now holds the torch for the Worst Mass Space Fighter Pilot Death that Extras Can Face Scene that I have seen in years?

Um. Yeah. I guess that's it. @_@ Now, I better go and work on Bloodsport 8. I think [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu must be getting visions of strapping me down to a chair and sitting on my back until I put it out.
X-posted to all the usual places.

One midterms test down. Two more to go. Finished one of the two papers also. And by some miracle, I passed my second long test. 65. Not bad, given the fact that I was expecting 50 or below. @_@

Did I mention that I just blew close to 7,000 bucks on books and comics in the last three days?

This one's slightly delayed, and because of PC problems the creation of the LJ for Citrus Avenue has been delayed also. [livejournal.com profile] ezraelandvari and I shall get to it sooner or later. In the meantime, here's Deja Entendu for your reading pleasure. Heads up, A x R fans. >D

(( Deja Entendu: Aidan Clayce & Rethe Kyriff in Eleven Ways ))

Now for a mini-survey: which Citrus project do you want to see first? Choose one, or two (or even three), but PLEASE don't say all. o_o;; Choices are as follows:
Strange & Beautiful - Maes x Nikolai
Black Market Music - Hiroshi x Hikaru (pre-Citrus)
Soviet Kitsch - Ires & Natalia
From the Choirgirl Hotel - Neeka x Emir
Untitled - Roman x Jilly
Auf Asche - Takeo x Ritsu
Serve Chilled - Mafuyu x Yue
A Love Affair - Sein x Beatrix
My Favorite Game - Hiroshi x Yukio
Untitled - Lorenzo x Naiara
Low Place Like Home - Alistair x Aidan / Aidan, Calintz & Rilea (pre-Citrus)
Demon Days - Alistair, Mikhail & Hikaru (post-Lullabies to Paralyze)

Of the ones mentioned, four have bits and pieces for them sitting on our PCs. We're working on other stuff, but I can't elaborate beyond that. Spoilers. ^-^

EDIT: I meticulously format everything only to find out that the story's too goddamned long for LJ. >___> Anyhow, it's in PDF. Thar we have it.
The Back-to-Ateneo Report:

.1. I passed Math. I didn't just pass it. I got a C.
2. QPI at 3.25. That doesn't make the cut for the dean's list, but I don't care. I passed Math and I thought I'd fail it.
3. Caf Down @ ADMU is teh shineh now. @_@
4. Now I want that huge-ass bar of Hershey's Dark chocolate. Thanks a lot, [livejournal.com profile] ezraelandvari. I also owe her for breaking my brain.
5. It is good to know that at least somebody out there shares my hatred for intellectual wankers. *salutes to [livejournal.com profile] irian.
6. Yesterday I brushed the dust of Thick as Thieves and fixed up Eternal Wa(n)king, which now goes under the name of The Fragile. I made a prologue, I wrote all of the third chapter and I daresay I did the smuttiest scene I have ever done in my whole writing career. You will see it in Chapter 4 soon. Boys, cover your eyes.
7. Welcome to the world of LJ, [livejournal.com profile] moose_hut. ^____^
8. This week is looking good. Hell. I'm actually excited about the second semester now.

So that's that. Still reeling from brain-breaking intellectual wanking that [livejournal.com profile] irian showed me. And I really thought I was the only one here. :3

Now to celebrate the 33rd Anniversary of my parents with them over a 30-minute evening Mass and what is sure to be a pleasant family dinner.
Updated [livejournal.com profile] stitched_o and [livejournal.com profile] stitchedophelia with news on what I've been working on in terms of writing, so you can poke either one of those links to see what's up on that end of the field. I still haven't gotten around to answering any of the requests that were made over at this post, sadly. .-.

Anyway. On to pimping.

To all the people I've ever DMed online for:

  • I may be resurrecting [livejournal.com profile] methuselah_net. I've booted off all the old members as I re-evaluate what to do. I would love to continue the RPG over at this page, but the computer crash I had way back when erased all of the GM files I had from my disc drive AND I don't have enough GMs to handle a game of that caliber.
  • If I DO start another RPG, would you guys be okay with a purely story-based one? Suggestions/comments needed.

To all the download/upload whores:

  • New community over at [livejournal.com profile] ze_junkheap. Members needed, especially if they want to upload stuff. :3
  • I'm still in the process of fixing my mp3s, so I won't be able to come up with a full list of the stuff you can request from me. If I'm still not done in the next few days, I'll make a temporary post so that I can get things started.

...And I guess that's it. I'll go back to writing Chapter 7 now. o_o
