It's Ficcing Time. [Christmas 2011 Gift Requests]

Yeah I totally forget that this thing exists. All the time.

BUT HELLO I AM ALIVE SUP EVERYONE. Life has been nuts. That is all. Wow I need to top up my icons on this account when I have the cash for it...

Now for the actual purpose of this post.

Christmas 2011 Gift Requests

I am nowhere near where a lot of you live, and not having a job put a major dent in my bank account, which pretty much prevents me from sending out gifts to some of my home girls based in other countries. BUT SINCE I LOVE YOU ALL I want to try and give you SOMETHING, so!

(Also I know this is incredibly early but I might need a lot of time to get to some of the requests. Some of you guys love making me flail. ;w;)

Tell me if you want to musebox something with me or if you want fic! I always say I'm going to write stuff or plot wonderful things with people but never get around to actually doing it. Time to hold me by the ears and make me. XD
Lemme in on the specifics. For museboxing, what would you like? For ficcing, which characters or scenario or whatever do you want to see? Prompts are more than welcome! Note that I'm also A-OK with writing fics set in RPverses.
List down at least two requests. Four would be ideal. I might not be able to fulfill one, but I'd still like to do something for you. o3o

For everyone's reference:

Games I'm in/were in and can write stuff for: Soul Campaign, Dirty Vegas, The Skytides,
Serious Business
Stuff I'm most comfortable with: Gintama, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Persona 3, Persona 4, Sengoku Basara, Full Metal Alchemist, Oofuri, Metal Gear Solid, D.Grayman, Final Fantasy 7/10/12/13/Tactics, Suikoden, Soul Eater, Devil Summoner, Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends With You
Stuff I've written for in the past: Sailor Moon, Final Fantasy 7, Bleach, DOGS, Gundam Seed, Darker than BLACK, XXXHOLiC, Xenogears, Devil May Cry, Tales of the Abyss, Count Cain, Bounen no Xam’d, Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann, Black Lagoon, Eureka 7, Cowboy Bebop, Mushishi, Loveless, Gankutsuou, Tokyo Majin, Final Fantasy 9, Ghost Hunt, Magna Carta, Peacemaker, Sailor Moon, Gunslinger Girl, Code Geass, Kekkaishi, Star Ocean 3, Fruits Basket, Toward the Terra, Kurenai, Wild Adapter, Odin Sphere, One Piece, Seirei no Moribito, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e
Stuff I'm familiar with but haven't written for yet: Tiger & Bunny, Supernatural, Clover, Samurai Champloo, Assassin's Creed, Ace Attorney, X, Magic Knight Rayearth
Stuff I've written for/know about but might not be so good at: Glee, Doctor Who, Torchwood, the Vampire Diaries, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, White Collar, Ouran High School Host Club, Prince of Tennis, Air Gear, MPD Psycho, House MD, Monster, Moyashimon, Hikaru no Go

Folks who know about my original projects are also welcome to make requests in that direction, if you don't want fandom things!

My fic journal [livejournal.com profile] stitchedophelia also has a (massively outdated) fic list and tags that you can refer to, if you're pretty sure that I've done something for a fandom that isn't listed here. o3o

Also: I'd post a link to my muse list, but it's kind of really outdated. orz

Comment away! I've spread this to my plurk list too, so make sure to lemme know who you are so that I can figure out dedications and the like! ♥

Crawling back out of my hole now...

Hi, guys. Lots of things have happened. In sum:

Still don't have a job. I am okay with this.

Gaming a lot, writing a lot, RPing like a boss, doing well in my studies, dealing with stupid classmates.

Switched ISPs to something faster. This is about the only reason why I'm finally doing personal LJ things - my old connection just couldn't load all the stuff going on on my flist, and I couldn't download doujin/anime anyway, so there wasn't a point. Coming back now that I have the means.

Feeling better about myself and the direction I'm going in, overall. Things will only get better from here on, with luck.

How have all of you been? Apologies: I suck at keeping up with you folks these days. You're welcome to scold me through the usual means. As a sort of peace offering, have some fics:

GINTAMA. // A lover as faithful as guilt.
GINTAMA. // Something's Burning: Fate could create you and I.
GINTAMA. // Something's Burning: Open up and let me inside.
GINTAMA. // Something's Burning: Errands and affairs.
GINTAMA. // Something's Burning: Deny, deny, deny.
GINTAMA. // Something's Burning: Regarder la lumiere
GINTAMA. // Something's Burning: Nautical dawn.
GINTAMA. // Something's Burning: I will be the water for your thirst.
GINTAMA. // Something's Burning: Epilogue.

Fandom bias, thy name is Gintama.

Roll in, roll out.

Went a long time without checking LJ, yet again.

I have a bit of an excuse this time - my personal journal simply wouldn't load on Firefox, and when it DID load, it was way too slow for my taste.

If you suddenly get me commenting on some entry of yours from god-knows-when, this is why. OTL

So, life things. Been keeping up fabulously with my studies. Got a report coming up on Tuesday for World Fiction, and another one on the 11th for Text and Context. Text and Context professor has thankfully moved our class from Saturday morning to Monday afternoon to evening. Never been hot about 4:30-7:30 PM classes, but they're still worlds better than Saturday morning ones. I'm going to miss the novelty of stumbling into a room full of students who are just as sleepy as you are, though. There's some odd camaraderie to be found in that.

On that note, my report for World Fiction is on Kazuo Ishiguro's "Never Let Me Go". Until now, that novel has always been on my Books I Have to Read When I Am Less Busy list, so I'm kind of glad that I had an opportunity to pick it up and just go for it because of class, strange as that might sound. It was a good read overall, but I didn't feel nearly as sad about the way things go in the story as I suppose I should have. Either it just didn't work for me, or I'm too used to reading Japanese literature/manga and watching Japanese series.

Family's been meeting up a lot this week. There was my brother Paolo's birthday dinner, for one, then mother's birthday dinner, then the actual celebration we had for mom at home. Got to catch up with cousins there, and gave a pep talk to one of the younger ones about college. Time flies hella fast when you're not looking, doesn't it?

On another note: Shangrila Plaza and I have become rather familiar with each other. And I got to see [livejournal.com profile] mlina for the first time in a long time. Good stuff.

Things are slow and quiet, for the most part. This is a good thing, because I'm finally feeling more like myself again. That means that I should be ready to do what I've got to do soon.

Now for your usual fic dump.

► COUNT CAIN. // Forever was so many different things.
► GINTAMA. // This broken world we choose.
► GINTAMA. // What brought us to this.
► GINTAMA. // The world is tiny; the heart's enormous.
► GINTAMA. // There's a bird that nests inside you.
► OOKIKU FURIKABUTTE. // And I love you even through uncertainty.
► SENGOKU BASARA. // Feel my heart beat.
► KINGDOM HEARTS. // Tomorrow is something we remember.
► THE SKYTIDES RP. // Return my heart when I am dead.
► D.GRAYMAN. // Burning bridges.

I have this icon because of Yukeh.

Registration, by the way, was incredibly tedious. I won't say 'hell' because that would be exaggerating the entire exercise, but let's just say I left school that afternoon murderous. Interestingly enough, this is the first time I finished registering in one day since I started my master's degree. That's got to count for something, right?

Last weekend of 'freedom' was spent with friends on Saturday, and family on Sunday. Went to my older brother's new place: it's a townhouse that's a stone's throw away from Holy Spirit. It was abymssally hot and I was terribly sleepy, but few things beat the joy of chilling out with your parents, your brothers and your sisters-in-law with the kids running around, eating Ferrero Rocher and talking about nothing at all.

My cat's been my only real company at home during the day, and my younger brother swings by in the evening to do work. His laptop finally gave out on him, so he doesn't have much of a choice. Been falling asleep to the sound of him working these past few days. Going abroad appears to have fixed my sleeping schedule: I don't stay up at ungodly hours, and I tend to wake up with the dawn.

Just had my first of two classes - no formal lecture, of course, just some questions and a bit of small talk. Spent more of my time catching up with a colleague, who gave me some interesting news. I've missed her a lot, I realize, but I haven't been very good with people these days. She hasn't been either, though, and we said as much to each other. There's some camaraderie to be found in being disconnected, then connecting with people who decided to disconnect the way you did for a while.

Won't be on campus again until Saturday, if I have any say in it. Home's just too comfortable these days.

Been wrestling with a general feeling of uselessness. Sure, I'm free and yes, it's wonderful, but I don't have a job, and after three years of earning it's kind of hard to fall back on that. My friends all appear to be moving ahead too, which doesn't really help.

Such as it is. I'll get on my feet again eventually. In the meantime, I ought to enjoy my break because I doubt that I'll get another one after this is finished.

I'd normally let an issue like this resolve itself and not chip in my two cents unless prompted to, but this debate on the RH Bill is becoming ridiculous. The Ruling Powers down hear (read: the Philippine Catholic Church) have it in their heads that they're waging a war against heathen, and the flock MUST obey them if they are to save their souls.

We were made to pray "for the sanctity of the Church" and "the well-being of all families" against the RH bill during last Sunday's service. Suffice to say, I did not kneel, and I did not pray at all. I believe I was the only one.

Perhaps I will stand next time. I can't walk out - it'll break my parents' hearts, and they are the only reason why I continue to suffer through Mass - but I can resist in my own way.

For any of you bishops in the audience, this is how I live my faith. Fucking deal with it. And no, you can't excommunicate me. I'd sure as hell like to see you try.

For the interested: I chronicled my entire trip abroad. I've listed down the entries here in chronological order:

Vancouver, May 5
Vancouver, May 6
Vancouver, May 7
Vancouver, May 8
Vancouver, May 9-10
Toronto, May 11-13
Toronto and New York, May 14-19
New York and Washington D.C., May 20-22
Washington D.C., May 23-26
Washington D.C./New York again/Toronto again, May 26-31
Vancouver again and coming home, June 1-5

No pictures yet. I'll have to sit down a while and sift through them before I show anything off.

Now, for the mandatory fic dump.

► DEVIL SUMMONER. // From blossom to dusty blossom.
► SUIKODEN TIERKREIS. // Everybody knows I hate you except you.
► SUIKODEN TIEKRKREIS. // Tireless hunger in your eyes.
► METAL GEAR SOLID 4. // Take care of all our dreams.
► GINTAMA. // We outgrow love like other things.
► FULL METAL ALCHEMIST. // Don't trust a statistic you didn't fake yourself.

Got a lot of backlog, but my activities on LJ and my own need to catch up with downloads keeps me from posting them up in a timely fashion, or working on others.

Derp derp derping along.

Has it been a while, or has it been a while? It's been crazy down here, and I've pretty much moved all of my activity unto plurk these days, due to [livejournal.com profile] soul_campaign and, well. Sheer laziness, really.

You all haven't gotten rid of me just yet, though. I get assaulted, at random, by the sudden need to fix my little internet hovels on a regular basis. For those of you who may not even remember me, hi, hello, this is Kae/Pam/Pammu/Pammeth, signing in, once again.

I know I ought to be making a lengthier update, given how long it's been and everything that has happened, but I'm not one for really writing out what goes on in my life at length over the internet anymore. This is either because I'm growing older, I'm getting busier, I'm doing a whole bunch of OTHER things all at once or it's just been crazy and my habits are changing because of it. Still, a few points of information:

I'm back from Singapore. Learned a lot on the trip, deepened my ties with the people over there, but I don't think I ever want to do something like that again. This isn't the place to really talk about exactly what happened to me, but let's just say that all around, people were crappy.

Been on the retreat for personal reasons. I sort of... shut down on the internet end in the middle of March, and I haven't quite gone out of hiding yet, as many of my RP buddies have noticed. My entire experience in Singapore and a few unrelated, isolated incidents on the personal front have gotten me seriously thinking about what I want to do with my life, along with the relationships I have with people in general, the state of my research and my job, and the stuff that I truly want to be doing, in spite of all the interferance. Suffice to say, the shut down has allowed me to reconnect with folks I haven't spoken to or seen in a while, and beyond that? I think it's helping.

Did I mention that my internet connection has become even crappier since I came home? That actually contributes a lot to my overall feeling of disconnection, actually, since I end up flipping tables at the mere thought of puttering around and checking up on things and people since I rarely get anywhere with it.

I'll have to be back in gear by June, though, and I know I owe more than a few people an explanation for my decision to hide. When it comes, then.

The family's doing well, all things considered. To make a long story short, it has been... interesting, in the Punzalan household. Things are changing in ways I cannot begin to describe, and it is part of the reason why I've sort of withdrawn from the usual places outside of plurk. Plurk is easy for me, see. Connectivity without too much of the pressure, terrible as that might sound.

Going out on another trip. This will likely be the last trip I will ever take, all expenses paid, with my parents. They are getting older, things are getting more expensive and business is getting harder. Dad says that this is his last 'gift' to me and my little bro, since, being the youngest in the family, we were never able to travel as much as our siblings were. Paolo won't be on this one for that precise reason.

Will be out for the entirety of May and June, then it's back to the school and research grind.

Now, for internet things.

Friends Cut, All Around;

Did some major cleaning up of the flist to ditch old fangirl things, streamline my feed and make sure I actually see the entries that matter on the few times that I check back here (because I have a feeling I'll keep dropping out of this Regularly Checking LJ habit more and more as the months pass), so I've also removed a lot of people from my list.

Please note that you're free to remove me as well, especially if you don't even remember why you've got me friended in the first place. Nothing personal: we're all just moving on.

Oh yeah. Have some fics, guys.

Massive update from Singapore.

I actually started writing this one from my cousin’s flat – it’s the place I’ve been staying in for nearly a week now. As those of you on plurk already know, there’s no net access from home yet. Planned on making this entry when I was actually online, but whenever I get online, I end up doing a whole bunch of other things instead. XD

So! Singapore. Where do I begin?

ExpandWatch out for them teal deers. )

Summary: it’s been a pretty crazy trip so far. I have no doubt that it’ll just get crazier from here.

I told [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] khursten, [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel and a few others this before, but back before I left home, I knew that somehow this trip would be good for me. So far, I’m right. There is a special joy that comes with being on your own, with no one to really rely on but yourself – sure, you have to do all of your stuff on your own and plan all of this stuff on your own and worry about your cash and your laundry and your room and your commuting route, but god, it’s glorious.

It’s the little things that are best about independence, I realize. Standing around at the bus station while you wait for your ride home, listening to Nine Inch Nails on your mobile and absorbing the noise and heat of the city, wandering outside to the balcony of the place you’re staying in to light up and enjoy the breeze… that sort of stuff. Take note: I’m the 25-year-old girl who’s still living with her parents and therefore subject to all sorts of loving but ultimately ridiculous rules. I don’t love my family any less, but I am starting to see that I really need to get out there already. And Singapore is the first step.

I do miss my cat my cat, though. Like, really, really, really miss her. There are lots of friendly strays that are beautiful looking and plump and stuff, but they just make me wish that I could’ve brought Gouto with me. And I kind of really wish my girl friends from home were down here with me too. ._.

Anyway, I previously mentioned that having no internet at home is really good for me. This applies in more than just one direction. For one, so far, I’ve managed to read half of the huge-ass pile of unread comics and doujinshi that have just been piling up on my hard drive for the past year and a half. For another, I’ve managed to catch up on a lot of anime and tv shows, and watch some movies that have also been idling around in my collection. Something tells me that if I had brought my PS3 along, I would’ve been able to play through some of the games that I’ve had to set aside too – but it’s a good thing that I didn’t, else I’d be distracted. Forever.

Oh, and I’ve gotten a lot of writing done. Like, a lot of writing. Let me show you. :3

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY CRAZY WEEKEND, FLIST. ...Although the crazy didn't actually start over the weekend itself, but last Wednesday.

Little brother's organization was scheduled to sing Christmas carols at our house on Friday night. Everything was pretty much set - both my parents and my grandparents were going to stay in to watch, and my mom was even going to bring in Anika, my niece, to be cute and listen to the performance. They received word, though, that the mother of one of our family company's most loyal co-workers passed away in Baguio, and that meant that both of them had to go right over and be with her for a bit. That meant that the kids HAD no audience, especially since they planned on bringing our grandmother with them and my older brother Paolo was likely going to choose his latest computer game over watching the kids sing now that my parents weren't going to be around to keep him in place.

That is where I came in, because mom promptly left me in charge of finding them a new audience. Which I did, by posting a shoutout to Plurk (thanks to everyone who replied or tried to make a way to make it, btw!) and poking my buddies at the Faura smoket. At the end of it all, [livejournal.com profile] khursten, [livejournal.com profile] psychoshoujo and [livejournal.com profile] yue_dermond joined me for the evening, in exchange for free food, nice beds and good company. :3

The kids were really, really good for something totally amateur, and the best part about it was my lovely younger brother sang a full song in Filipino! I've never heard him sing in Filipino before. o_o It was also nice hanging out with the girls and kicking around, and I'm especially happy that Yue was able to come because I know how far my place is for hers~

The day after that was the start of my Epic Weekend, which involved Khursten and I zipping over to Trinoma in order to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel, [livejournal.com profile] 77ws and the mythical [livejournal.com profile] synatri in order to celebrate the purchase of Yukeh's First Dress Ever, and Lynffles' birthday! Traffic was a bitch, which meant that I didn't get to stay all that long since I had somewhere else to be right after lunch, but I got to eat with them and chill for a bit! My only real regrets are that I didn't get to be with Lynffles all that long for her birthday blowout aaaaand I didn't get to watch my other half get dolled up. OTL

Bore through more terrible traffic in order to go to Pasig and come to [livejournal.com profile] mlina's lovely house and celebrate Christmas with her and her group! Managed to spot [livejournal.com profile] dreamlessness, [livejournal.com profile] nonartisan (WHO GAVE ME ANOTHER MINI GACHAPON CREEPER TO HANG FROM SOMEWHERE) and [livejournal.com profile] mochalic before they had to zip off, and chillaxed with Noey, [livejournal.com profile] redmoonmurder, Kang and the rest of Noey's friends before I had to leave YET AGAIN for the party I was going to host back at my place.

Faura Smoket Crew (guest starring [livejournal.com profile] psychoshoujo again, because I wanted to take her out for a weekend!) trickled in car by car sometime after I managed to get home (through significantly less terrible traffic), and it was absolutely lovely to have nearly everyone under my roof! THERE WAS SO MUCH FOOD slakdhgakshd household prepared stuff and everyone brought something to either eat and drink! And I introduced the lot of them to my parents (who all found them "respectful" and nice, ahaha!), took them on a tour of the whole first floor of my house (two batches with commentary, lol), and smoked a lot of interesting things from Jakarta, which Faith brought back with her from her vacation there! It was beautiful and fun and amazing, and the people who weren't able to make it were really, really missed BUT NO MATTER WE SHALL HAVE ANOTHER PARTY SOON.

[livejournal.com profile] khursten and I slept sometime after 4 AM - she and Mia woke up a little before I did hours later, and I was totally incoherent until we had lunch with my family. Saw them off sometime after that (BUT NOT BEFORE WATCHING THE SEASON FINALE OF GLEE), then kicked around until Mass. Dinner with family was nice as always, and I ended up accomplishing about 70% of all my backlogged student things before bed~

THIS COMING WEEKEND IS LOOKING CRAZY AS WELL, AHAHAHA. Hello, holiday season!

With the general paperwork out of the way and my students on track before the break, this week looks like it's going to pan out rather nicely. Kicked it off, in fact, with dinner with Anjo and [livejournal.com profile] khursten at Kamimori + dessert at this amazing DIY yogurt place called Fruity Froyo - I treated my little brother out to both once he managed to join us, since I figured I ought to do something nice for him for Christmas.

...Speaking of Christmas gifts. I've been weirdly inspired to give lots of people stuff - like, people beyond the usual suspects anyway. I guess it's because this is my second year of gainful employment at ADMU, and I've got money to spare. Time to give something back, y'know?

I am also going to spoil myself by buying a PS3, and I'll likely have a unit in my home sometime before the end of the year.

Yep.

It is time.

WHO NEEDS SUBJECT LINES.

This week has been absolutely lovely so far, with all these meets with friends~ it's just too bad that I wasn't able to go out with [livejournal.com profile] mlina. That would have made it even lovelier. :<

Also: Red Cliff was absolute win. HORSE PUNCHING, GET.

It's been a nice and quiet day at home for me, just like yesterday. Beautician came over to do my nails and some waxing (yeah, I'm preparing for Singapore, bite me), and I got to roll around and poke people that I don't often get to poke on IM ([livejournal.com profile] signifies, I'm looking at you). I also got to enable a lot of people to do a lot of shiny things, so that is always cool! Am also still on my jazz trip, since I'm working my way through the huge set of songs that [livejournal.com profile] khursten gave me. Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald are pure ♥, always and ever.

...Speaking of music. Let me tell you, flist, that the section of my external HD that I devote to my music finally ran out of space yesterday. Cue me madly scrambling around to distribute files to the laptop and less congested drives on my main PC.

This must be a sign. Guess I'm bringing home a new external HD and possibly a DS from my trip next week.

Shit like this needs a post.

My weekend was pretty wild, because I kicked it off by hanging with my ADMU family over at Ayala Techno Park (AN EXTREMELY SHINY PLACE IS EXTREMELY SHINY) and THEN it was off to meet with the girls the next day.

Started off with me swinging by Medical City to see [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] khursten and [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel - we ate lunch before heading up to help Rachel's family out with her dad's hospital room. Teng Papan is perfectly fine from the looks of it! *w*

After Rachel went off with her family, we took a road trip around to pick Khursten's mom up and drop Lyn off before we hit Khursten's hood. We rolled around until late evening before zooming over to [livejournal.com profile] 77ws's party thing WHICH DID NOT HAVE PRITCHON, FEEL MY DISAPPOINTMENT WAVES OVER THE INTERNET--!

People spotted:
- [livejournal.com profile] psychoshoujo, [livejournal.com profile] gzep (who is srsly amazing when he is tipsy/drunk) and [livejournal.com profile] seraph_dreams!
- Sammi and Justin, who holds the distinction of being her boyfriend for more than a year. Good job, Justin. T^Tb
- [livejournal.com profile] menismastah and the Antarctics folks! Adz, your hair! o_o

Night passed into morning in a haze of way too much laughing and a whole lot of booze. Khursten and I went home by 2, but we didn't sleep all that much due to Srs Talk, which I'll likely poke the other girls about at the soonest opportunity.

Running on minimal sleep at the moment and back at home, but I'm still hoping that the family will decide to eat out. It's been a while since we've done that~

EDIT, A FEW HOURS LATER: Yeah, we went out. It was amazing. |D

After Ondoy, and some pimpage.

Right, so. Yesterday was the first regular school day after the shitstorm that was Ondoy.

The atmosphere was rather... well. It wasn't great, but it wasn't entirely terrible. Still, it's rather haunting, going around and hearing people talk about nothing else but what happened, or occasionally spotting someone crying on someone else's shoulder. My students, for the most part, are okay - we talked long and much about exactly how the tragedy could have reached critical mass the way it did, along with a more regular concern: grades.

I've just spent most of my day checking all of their remaining requirements and computing for their class standing - it doesn't look like I'll be failing anyone this semester, and overall, everyone did stellar in my classes. Tomorrow will involve some negotiations on the parts of a few of my students, and I'll probably let them have their desired grade bumps if they can argue with me well enough.

On the grad studies end of things, I've still got a paper to write. Felt shitty over the past few weeks, so I really haven't been able to do it. Thankfully, I returned to my calm and happy place by rolling around and fixing all (yes, all) of my backlogged files and changing my icon sets, so I think I'm recharged enough to give it a shot. Tonight, perhaps.

Now let's talk internet things.

First off: HI AND HELLO TO THE NEW FOLKS THAT [livejournal.com profile] jusrecht INTRODUCED ME TO! ♥

Baby steps towards raging against the dying of the light. [Return on Investment Chapters 8-11]

A conversation with [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu the other night had me attempting something that I've never done before: block out a whole day to do nothing but fuss over my writing.

To make a long story short, it worked.

KATEKYO HITMAN REBORN!: Return on Investment

Chapter Eight: New ways, old things.
Theme Song: Download link to follow!
Rating: G
Characters: Tsuna, Chrome, Basil, I-Pin, Lambo, Luce, Gamma, Shouichi, with brief appearances and mentions of others
Summary: Tsuna dreams in the car, Luce cleans her office, and occasionally, we see bits and pieces of the past.
Notes: This longfic was my NaNoWriMo project for 2008, although I've actually been itching to write it ever since I returned to the fandom early on this year. It's meant to take place ten years into the new future created by Tsuna and his crew after the TYL arc, and is pretty much very AU now, given how the manga has ended up progressing (point of departure from the canon is around Chapter 215, although I've tried to incorporate bits and pieces from the chapters after that). The title of this chapter is taken from the [livejournal.com profile] 31_days theme for July 4, 2008.

4,916 words.

Chapter Nine: No place like home.
Theme Song: Download link to follow!
Rating: PG-13, for shower hanky panky nudity
Characters: Kyoko, Haru, Hana, Ryohei, Yamamoto, Hibari, Reborn x Bianchi, with mentions of others
Summary: The Road Trippers finally reach their destination, and Reborn, after a good morning call from Bianchi, goes off to see one of his stupid students.
Notes: The title of this chapter is taken from the [livejournal.com profile] 31_days theme for October 11, 2008.

4,560 words.

Chapter Ten: Raison d’etre.
Theme Song: Download link to follow!
Rating: R, for interhouse mansexxing an implied sexual encounter
Characters: Dino x Hibari, Gokudera, Tsuna, Kyoko, Basil, Chrome, Yamamoto and Reborn, with mentions of others
Summary: Hibari in Venice, two hours late for an engagement. Gokudera, on assignment. Tsuna, heading home. Yamamoto and Reborn, at a bar, with drinks.
Notes: The title of this chapter is taken from the [livejournal.com profile] 31_days theme for August 14, 2008.

4,440 words.

Chapter Eleven: Somewhere just left of nowhere.
Theme Song: Download link to follow!
Rating: NC-17, for graphic sex
Characters: Dino x Hibari
Summary: Ten years in the past at Namimori / Ten years into the future at Venice.
Notes: The title of this chapter is taken from the [livejournal.com profile] 31_days theme for August 7, 2008.

3,663 words.

Feels like centuries since I last posted Return on Investment stuff, huh? orz

Also: ridiculously happy about how Fiore di Nuvola has been received so far. Was honestly afraid that no one would read it because of the premise, but the folks who have were fabulous with their feedback.

For this next week, I'm thinking of trying to write just a little bit each day rather than take a whole day out for it. We'll see which one works out for me better. ♥

Title: beLIEve.
Pairing/Characters: Byakuran & Hibari, with appearances by a few of the others
Rating: R
Summary: Alternate universe fic, exploring the possibility of what life might have been like for Hibari Kyouya, if Byakuran had found him first.
Notes: This one was written for Round Two of the KHR Minibang~! You can read all of the other works over at this link.

Shuffling back in.

The writing of this entry was massively delayed because of Suikoden Tierkreis.

No, I do not have a DS - [livejournal.com profile] khursten lent me hers, with encouragement from [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, because the both of them are delightfully evil.

My PSP is with Khursten now. orz

Cold aside, this week was pretty glorious because two vacations that consequently landed on the only remaining work days that I had pretty much left me with a four-day weekend. Used Tuesday and Wednesday up for tackling my backlog (which I managed to finish), and rolled around on Thursday. Met with the girls on Friday, which felt strangely like Saturday because lmao, long weekend is long.

Friday was also the day that I took home Khursten's DS, and it ate me alive. It's... still chewing on my arm. ._.

Saturday class was lulzy because we tackled Formalism and Reader Response Theory. Had a lot to contribute to both while I was tackling the gazillion tags I got from all of my RP accounts. I'm getting better at juggling all this stuff, but also realizing that I may definitely have to cut down on my activities and RPs soon. There are so many other things that I ought to be or would rather be doing with my time now.

Title: Insanity is hereditary.
Characters/Pairing(s): Tsuyoshi, Iemitsu, Shamal, mentions of others
Rating: G
Summary: On the eve of a fight for succession, some not-so-tired old men get together for a good drink.
Warnings? Manry bonding, and alcohol.
Notes: Originally written for [livejournal.com profile] khr_undercover. I wrote for the theme, "Origins", and I actually won, which is pretty cool. o_o The title is taken from a theme found in one of the [livejournal.com profile] 31_days sets!

1,495 words.

...There is a funny story behind this one. See, I joined khr_uc not knowing that it was actually a contest, and since I was srsly busy, I forgot to join the community and keep track of the updates. So, when I finally found out that the results were up and I saw my name on the post as one of the winners for the theme competition, I was like "whut". XD;

Still, it was challenging and very fun. I'm considering joining the third round, but with my hit record with writing, it's probably better if I didn't.

Deadline for the minibang is coming up by the end of this month. I've checked my entry over for the umpteenth time, and I figure that I can get by on minimal editing. The thing, as a whole, looks perfectly fine on its own.

Been tripping out massively on movies lately, and that sort of made me realize something about my writerly cycle that I'll probably blog about sometime.

I should also blog about my stand on KHR!, since I've been gabbing off to a select few people ever since the first chapter for this month came out.

For the moment, though, I'll pimp out the entry on Nine Inch Nails that I made sometime back, since a couple of you guys were asking.

Nine Inch Nails and How I Owe Them Just Short of Everything

+ Fanmix, KHR!, for [livejournal.com profile] desumethis; Xanxus & Squalo - Married, with Domestic Violence!

It's good to be mixing again, and even better to be writing again. Currently working on a *cough* surprise KHR! fic, and it's going well. I just might make the deadline without problems.

As some of you already know, I went out with my folks to the Canadian Embassy. Passport renewal is death serious business, so serious, in fact, that it entailed being stuck on the road for nearly two hours (CURSE YOU, WEATHER!) and another hour-long wait because the dudes ahead took forever and a day.

Was supposed to go and see [livejournal.com profile] khursten (and later meet up with the Koushien for dinner along Tomas Morato), but we had to take a rain check because lol, well. Rain. Anyway, ended up tagging along with my folks the whole day - first to Glorietta (mom wanted to get her watches fixed at the service center), then to Megamall (dad wanted to canvas the prices of shotguns at the gun convention).

In spite of the fact that I've only pretty much just gotten home, it was rather nice, spending time with the folks. One funny thing that happened today was my dad attempting to read what I was working on over my shoulder. I... sort of panicked because I was doing gay porn. Um. Yeah. /)_(\

Oh, I also saw [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu for a bit! We finally got our gelato! ♥

Because of all the waiting time I had today, I got to finish Misha McGlenny's McMafia, after nearly a year of picking it up and putting it down. It's a fascinating read exploring the relationship between organized crime and globalization, and I strongly recommend it to whoever's into those topics.

With that done, I can go on to crawling through the other selections on my book shelf, and the book that [livejournal.com profile] lonelybusiness lent me a long, long, LONG time ago. *sob* RL keeps me pretty much too busy to really go through books unless I'm in transition or transport, since I'm usually occupied with so many other things when I'm actually free.

This has to change, though. Gotta make reading for leisure a much more regular habit, the way it used to be.

Funky animu again this season. Bakemonogatari and Tokyo Magnitude 8 look exceptionally well-done, for one.
