I actually started writing this one from my cousin’s flat – it’s the place I’ve been staying in for nearly a week now. As those of you on plurk already know, there’s no net access from home yet. Planned on making this entry when I was actually online, but whenever I get online, I end up doing a whole bunch of other things instead. XD

So! Singapore. Where do I begin?

ExpandWatch out for them teal deers. )

Summary: it’s been a pretty crazy trip so far. I have no doubt that it’ll just get crazier from here.

I told [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] khursten, [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel and a few others this before, but back before I left home, I knew that somehow this trip would be good for me. So far, I’m right. There is a special joy that comes with being on your own, with no one to really rely on but yourself – sure, you have to do all of your stuff on your own and plan all of this stuff on your own and worry about your cash and your laundry and your room and your commuting route, but god, it’s glorious.

It’s the little things that are best about independence, I realize. Standing around at the bus station while you wait for your ride home, listening to Nine Inch Nails on your mobile and absorbing the noise and heat of the city, wandering outside to the balcony of the place you’re staying in to light up and enjoy the breeze… that sort of stuff. Take note: I’m the 25-year-old girl who’s still living with her parents and therefore subject to all sorts of loving but ultimately ridiculous rules. I don’t love my family any less, but I am starting to see that I really need to get out there already. And Singapore is the first step.

I do miss my cat my cat, though. Like, really, really, really miss her. There are lots of friendly strays that are beautiful looking and plump and stuff, but they just make me wish that I could’ve brought Gouto with me. And I kind of really wish my girl friends from home were down here with me too. ._.

Anyway, I previously mentioned that having no internet at home is really good for me. This applies in more than just one direction. For one, so far, I’ve managed to read half of the huge-ass pile of unread comics and doujinshi that have just been piling up on my hard drive for the past year and a half. For another, I’ve managed to catch up on a lot of anime and tv shows, and watch some movies that have also been idling around in my collection. Something tells me that if I had brought my PS3 along, I would’ve been able to play through some of the games that I’ve had to set aside too – but it’s a good thing that I didn’t, else I’d be distracted. Forever.

Oh, and I’ve gotten a lot of writing done. Like, a lot of writing. Let me show you. :3

Semi-frustrated that I wasn't able to write the whole weekend, but my wrist was being weird again. I guess it couldn't be avoided. orz

Will catch up once I'm sure that it's fine!

Not-so-randomly: one thing I really like about writing by request is that I feel it helps me grow. Makes me write stuff that I normally WOULDN'T write, and all.

Overall, it's never a hassle. I'm even happier when the ones who requested are happy with what I've written for them.

I've FINALLY caught up with One Piece. I can't say that I'm as impressed with it as I might have thought I'd be, but I suppose it was worth the read. I'm also making good time with Gintama, and that is always cool. |D

Now to reread Full Metal Alchemist and catch up on Kekkaishi.

Beyond the animu, I've also finally updated my icons on both relevant accounts and changed my Plurk layout to something so terribly not-worksafe, it's glorious. ♥

Little things like this make my world go 'round at the moment~

Currently in the office now, to catch up on downloads and do all of the other things that only a decent connection will allow me to do. I feel I've caught up with RP duties a little TOO quickly - I'm still waiting on a pending application, so I'm a little reluctant to start working on the apps of the other characters I've got planned. I don't have any hanging logs either (or more like, I've tagged them so I'm just waiting on the other party), so... yeah. o_o

As for things on the home front, I spent a good part of yesterday moving things out of my room. Dad has Big Plans for renovation, so I'll be living like a hobo until the construction and repainting finishes~

Oh. Now that Holy Week is over, I'm going to call PLDT and get that damned upgrade. More than a month of lol!internetz is time enough.

Yesterday was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster~ my Dad and the doctor had the predicted showdown in the latter's office first thing in the morning, and Dad walked out of the encounter doing his usual thing: ranting and venting and basically doing the usual, condescending "Me against the world because my methods work all the effing time!" act. I kinda didn't want to hear it, so I kinda snapped. He lost his temper. It wasn't pretty. We were supposed to eat lunch out together, but Mom ended up going with my Dad to Tiendesitas and I was left to go home alone and try and compose myself in the car. That didn't work out as planned.

Skipped lunch as soon as I got back and slept most of the afternoon away because I srsly needed it -- woke up a little past four feeling groggy as heck. Talked it out a bit with [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel (that really, really helped), and then I started on RahXephon, whose second episode can be summarized in a single sentence: "OH MAH GEE FREAKOUT TIEM MY MUM BLEEDS BLUE!". Peter came around to bug me, so we ended up watching all our backlogged episodes of Dr. Who. I'm kinda thankful for the delay now, though, as apparently the series won't be showing a new episode until next week or so.

Things appeared to have blown over in the evening, when Dad and Mom finally came home. The apology this morning sealed it further. All is well.

If the marathoning and all wasn't enough to get my spirits back up, [livejournal.com profile] saythatyougetme certainly was. She's a great artist and her doujinshi circle is doing a project, and she signed me up to write the script for a D18 KHR doujin. *A* I've spent pretty much the whole day working on it so far -- progress is a little slow but otherwise good. I've really improved my script-writing skills for comic books.

According to Kimmy, we'll be selling our doujin during Lights Out 2008 -- it will also be sold online. Please support us when it comes out!

Since I'm occupied with the doujin script and fixing other music, I haven't been able to work on the mixes this weekend. In order to keep you guys occupied, though, here's Reason for crying, an album from a J-Rock/Visual K band named GIRUGAMESH. [livejournal.com profile] rainy_takako and I are hueg fans of this band, and now I'm hell bent on spreading the ♥ to the flist.

REASON FOR CRYING
1. Real my place
2. crime ~tsumi~
3. smash!!
4. Melody
5. Freesia
6. Omae ni Sasageru Minikui Koe
DOWNLOAD THE ZIP @ MEDIAFIRE

Also, I've posted two FF7 fics up on [livejournal.com profile] stitchedophelia. They're Crisis Core-inspired, but you don't need to have played the game in order to appreciate these ones.

Final Fantasy 7. Heroes have it easy. [Tseng & Rufus, that Last Order]

Final Fantasy 7. When a woman learns to walk, she's not dependent any more. [Tseng, Aerith, the color pink]

...I am greatly shamed by the fact that I resorted to a massive fic/shorts dump over at [livejournal.com profile] reuk_schitz because I was just too lazy to cross-post all the stuff I've written between now and March. SHAME ON YOU, SELF.

Defragging my laptop's main drive took the whole day. *only realized it now*

Mwr, dizzy. I think I better take a break and work on the script again later.
