Yep. The Philippine Speculative Fiction Issue is burning the internet lines. You can check the RoD blog if you want the lowdown.

I'll withhold my opinion from the intarwebs... if you want my take on it, just poke me. Let me, instead, quote a friend in how she very aptly described the frustrated writer-wannabe critic causing all this ruckus:

"He's just wanking because his glasses are bigger than his brain."

Heck. Now that I think about it, I think my boobs are bigger than his brain. o_O

[livejournal.com profile] team7, we're with you.
SATURDAY

Yaoi no Hi celebration at Mall of Asia. Took [livejournal.com profile] archangel_dream along for the ride, where I met up with [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] sindapa, [livejournal.com profile] khursten, [livejournal.com profile] xhael, [livejournal.com profile] macgirl_13, [livejournal.com profile] stryderranulf, [livejournal.com profile] sortinghatlover, [livejournal.com profile] magnetic_rose and other faces old and new to celebrate boy porn over chocolate cake. Was given the work I need to do from Ranulf's end, and basically chilled/fangirled/bibliophiled the whole day.

Late night conversations and Gudangs made me realize how much I've missed times like that. After a harrowing semester (and it'll only get more harrowing from this point), going back to the people who truly matter in life was refreshing. The book sales and discount card power help too. X3

...This summary would be better, 'cept my brain is shot from weird weather and too much smoking. At least it's windy. o_o

SUNDAY

Petrik and family (including my adorable one-year-old (and them some) niece were over for the weekend. They're all ecstatic about the publishing gig. Father dear has offered to buy copies of the anthology when it comes out and give it to all our relatives and (nearly) all of my friends. It was generally all right until dinner time, when the topic of conversation somehow moved to homosexuality.

Traditional family + patriarchal house + know-it-all brother = Not Cool. Will Not Discuss.

TODAY

Was supposed to meet with Mahar to satisfy his craving for wild, passionate boysex give him this disc of eclectic anime pieces that I owe him, but he never came around. Spent most of my day in the smoket, and some of it at Caf Up. [livejournal.com profile] archangel_dream was freaking out over her Philo orals. [livejournal.com profile] miyachan and I were cramming fixing our stuff for Read or Die. We'll be handling Edith Tiempo during the talks at the Manila International Book Fair.

Home now, and a bit dizzy. I've got work I need to do for Comics Class, and I really ought to be working on my assignment(s) for Creative Writing. I should also be doing the shorts I plan to submit to Spec Fic and PSG. Then there's Madame Bovary to read and diagrams to encode.

*stares longingly at her Torchwood DVD*
Woke up REALLY late, so I ended up working out REALLY late. It's a good thing there wasn't any class today. o_o

...So let's see. I've generally spent the whole day downloading boy porn erotic manga from . Random chat with [livejournal.com profile] khursten, however, brought out the writerly side from this lazy bum, and I ended up writing up a new blog entry for RoD, populating the new LO forum with topics to kick it off AND piecing together an article for the online LO magaizine that we mods will be running. This leads me down to the real purpose of this post.

Here's a copy of the article I did for the site. Lemme know what you think.

Been working on drabbles over my long breaks at school as of late. New goodies will be up on [livejournal.com profile] stitchedophelia soon enough, if it all works out.
...So after attending a bit of the RoD meeting, [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu and I stroll around Robinson's Galleria a bit. Comic Odyssey turned up Danger Girl and Fables 3, with the former being relatively cheap but beyond my budget given its priority on my list and the latter being horrendously overpriced. Then we go to Bestsellers, the book store the club was going to check out after their meeting.

There are no words to describe what happened next. Let's just say that I completed Fables, Lucifer and Temeraire all in one fell swoop. My ATM account might as well be dead, but crap, am I happy.

Sunday = Bookshelf Fixing Day. Again. @_@

On other news, there's a lot on RoD's plate this year, but everything looks worth it... I'll be blogging muchly for the club in the days to come, most especially for this weekend and all of next week. And some of the more tedious pre-convention tasks for LO have been completed to satisfaction. So far it's all systems go for the 26th.
...Her keyboard is bouncy. o_o

Divisoria mass exodus ended up being [livejournal.com profile] sortinghatlover's epic journey since the rest of us have got stuff to do back here (coupled with the fact that I'm probably useless in that ares @_@) before [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu and I hop over to Robinson's Galleria for the May 2007 meeting of Read or Die. I haven't actually seen the RoD Folk since the convention.

Nope, didn't sleep much. It's hot, it's noisy, and there was work to be done anyway. Twas all right though, since the events leading up to actually arriving at the house were priceless (INDUSTRIAL ADHESIVE!). Cram session Next sleepover for the LO ladies is over at the house, the night before the convention. Will probably take the day off work in order to attend to stuff since I probably won't get any sleep that night -- rest is good.

Apocalypse Please mocks me. =_= Can't figured out the damned structure. ...Or more like, I have the structure, but it's bloody hard to write it out.

You know you've been gone too long and maybe you really should start checking off all of those communities that you don't really participate in anyway when you're offline for two days and end up going through 220 entries on the flist.

To all those who volunteered, assisted, organized, went to, donated, or otherwise supported Read or Die Convention 2007 this weekend, love and kisses.

I'll go back to munching on sour gummy soda bottles now.
All it took was a Sunday out for book-whoring, Read or Die-ing and crepping for the black mood to pass. Now would be a good time to play FF12 since the brother's at work, but realizing that all I have left to do are side quests in order to complete my game is a little annoying. Apologies to all those who got the brunt of the swings I took yesterday. Semi-public spiels like that are a rarity.

[livejournal.com profile] khursten and [livejournal.com profile] magnetic_rose, you were greatly missed my [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu and I. T_T I hope the next time I see you guys won't be RoD Con. It's been too long.

Most of my days have been spent with the PS2 or the PC as of late, with books in between and a whole lot of music to tide me over. Wound is thankfully healing well (the bandage is finally off! Real showers, here I come! *_*), so the rest of the restrictions should be lifted by the parentals in due time. Low moments are still a problem, but there's no way to avoid that.

I'm still craving for chunky chocolate chip cookies and a tall, cold glass of milk. Or maybe a dough of raw chocolate chip cookie dough.

Updating from Nikolai. This makes me want that laptop even more. Good thing the parents are receptive towards the idea. I will be naming him Aidan in all likelihood. :3 Will be changing the name of one of Alistair's drives to Ouki as a result. Alistair is sure to be sad.

Numb towards requirements. I've got my midterm orals exam for Philosophy tomorrow (part of the reason why I can't make it to the RoD meet this time around ~_~), Retellings critical analysis of the Met's take on Romeo & Juliet (4 pages in; debating on whether I should bother with editing), Long Test #3 in Math 12 on Tuesdays (read: scr00d on Singles Awareness Day), Battle Royale analysis for Ethics with [livejournal.com profile] pyrosinferno somewhere next month and the Retellings compilation thingie (7 pages and counting for my yakuza Cinderella~ <3). There will be other things in the coming weeks, I'm sure.

Somebody tell me that I'm not the only one in the audience who's feeling weird over the passage of this semester. @_@

Annoyance over being kicked out of Retellings is slow to pass. It wouldn't have happened if I had known about what was going on. I asked, nobody told. Oh well. =_=

LO ladies, if I'm coming to turn up tomorrow it'll only be for the dinner or what-have-you that will be happening afterward. Details as to where you all will be following the RoD meet are needed.

I still hold by the fact that Sentou Yousei Yukikaze is one of the best science fiction series I've watched yet. Five episodes long, and each of them's pure love. If you haven't watched it already and you're unwilling to do the BT piracy rounds online, folks, it'll be coming out on Animax. The rampant boy love in it brought about by the fact that it's gay without ever meaning to be is a plus too.
