So like, after nearly a month of saving and obsessively fixing, I have finally arranged all of my icons and changed all of the sets on all relevant accounts, DW and LJ. I haven't fixed the sets on my RP accounts yet now that I have some new things, but I'll get there soon enough.

DON'T JUDGE ME, IT'S A BIG THING, OKAY. @_@ Especially since I can converse with my icons better, now that I've switched my sets around and-- *geeky rambling here*

Went off to the usual hospital for the usual blood work, which meant that I finally got to use my handy-dandy medical card. It's one of those delayed discount card things that basically gives you brownie points for getting sick all the time and using their services.

The only really fun part about it was being with mom again. It's always nice talking to her one-on-one. When I'm at home I sort of retreat into my corner and our dinner table conversations don't really count because Needy Older Brother generally steals the show. Anyway, s'nice. ♥

On other RL things: still haven't gotten the phone appraised, much less fixed. Blame it on the lazy.

Blinding sunlight aside, the weather's great down here, but I heard it's hot in other areas of the city. I do wish I could send some of the breeze we've been getting down over to some of my friends - it's quite nice.

Birthday wishlist is over here, for the friends and lovers and the curious on my flist.

No, I still have no idea how I'm going to celebrate.

Speaking of birthdays... big apologies to those whom I still owe gift fics too. I'm lagging behind again, aren't I? *sob*

It's rather nice, playing and modding in games full of people that I actually enjoy being with.

Summer vacation is nearly over.

I'm honestly going to miss this.

( May. 17th, 2009 01:42 pm)
As a lot of my plurk buddies and closest friends will know, my connection has been pretty shittastic lately. I whine about it constantly - I'm painfully aware of this. Still, as anyone who pays for a service and realizes that they're pretty much getting gipped in return would know, it IS pretty aggravating, having an internet connection that tosses you around like a bucking bronco on a good day and just stays completely dead on a bad one.

Dealt with it pretty well due to RP duties and good company, but I think that trudging up and down the steps to constantly reset the modem eventually wore my patience down to a nub before I could realize it. And to top it all off, Friday was a huge waste of time. )

Thankfully, though, Saturday was wonderful. Took a road trip down to Pampanga with [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] ficcentricity, [livejournal.com profile] 77ws, [livejournal.com profile] khursten and [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel - they've actually done the trip before, but this is the first time that I was able to go with them.

Fun times in the car, kick ass food at the destination, and Kat's amazing zombie ass-kicking rabbit. Then there was an Italian dinner at Trinoma, [livejournal.com profile] lonelybusiness and Star Trek to boot.

Need I say more? ♥

Currently chilling out before I go back to watching things online. I've managed to set up DW archives for this journal and stitchedophelia along with a brand new fic/creative archive using the invite codes I've recently received - you can friend them, if you want, but I doubt that they'll be very interesting to you for a good, long time yet.

On other news, I should seriously start up my Wordpress blog, huh? I built it, like, months ago, but I'm supremely lazy.

EDIT: I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO MENTION THIS -

Because my connection was so sucky, I finished my entry for [livejournal.com profile] khrminibang in one sitting a few days back. orz Seriously, as I said on Plurk, productivity is the bastard child of restlessness and a sucky internet connection.
Quick update on the interview I mentioned last post: talk with the Chair went well. She says I've got an excellent record, and they're hoping to sign me on for another year with the department. The thing is, a lot of the old faculty members are returning, so there's a big chance that I won't be teaching as many classes as I was last year.

This is actually perfectly cool with me, because I'll just increase my load for my MA classes. I'll be earning less money, but studying IS a whole lot easier than teaching, much less studying AND teaching at the same time.

We talked a bit more about other things too, like how it's a good thing I'm sticking with the dept and srsly doing the scholar thing. She DID give me a fair warning about maximizing my semester (apparently she heard that I finished my sem rather early last sem, and with our New Nazi Administration that's frowned upon), but beyond that, all was well.

Changed the layout over at [livejournal.com profile] stitchedophelia due to that semi-creepy stalker person I mentioned before (although not in detail; you're going to have to ask me for that yourselves~), and I've finally got fics to pimp out. \o/

Speaking of RP-related things: World of Darkness folks, I have a proposal to make: why don't we move our game online? It'll be easier for us to do sessions, I think. Lemme know how you feel about that.

--And tomorrow: Batangas.
Holy Week is always interesting, for a number of reasons.

This year was no exception.

Semi-frustrated that I wasn't able to write the whole weekend, but my wrist was being weird again. I guess it couldn't be avoided. orz

Will catch up once I'm sure that it's fine!

Not-so-randomly: one thing I really like about writing by request is that I feel it helps me grow. Makes me write stuff that I normally WOULDN'T write, and all.

Overall, it's never a hassle. I'm even happier when the ones who requested are happy with what I've written for them.

I've FINALLY caught up with One Piece. I can't say that I'm as impressed with it as I might have thought I'd be, but I suppose it was worth the read. I'm also making good time with Gintama, and that is always cool. |D

Now to reread Full Metal Alchemist and catch up on Kekkaishi.

Beyond the animu, I've also finally updated my icons on both relevant accounts and changed my Plurk layout to something so terribly not-worksafe, it's glorious. ♥

Little things like this make my world go 'round at the moment~

Currently in the office now, to catch up on downloads and do all of the other things that only a decent connection will allow me to do. I feel I've caught up with RP duties a little TOO quickly - I'm still waiting on a pending application, so I'm a little reluctant to start working on the apps of the other characters I've got planned. I don't have any hanging logs either (or more like, I've tagged them so I'm just waiting on the other party), so... yeah. o_o

As for things on the home front, I spent a good part of yesterday moving things out of my room. Dad has Big Plans for renovation, so I'll be living like a hobo until the construction and repainting finishes~

Oh. Now that Holy Week is over, I'm going to call PLDT and get that damned upgrade. More than a month of lol!internetz is time enough.
To kick things off, have a conversation I took from plurk:

[livejournal.com profile] izkariote: HARK.
[livejournal.com profile] izkariote: TIS MY BRAIN IN A BOWL.
[livejournal.com profile] izkariote: BEHOLD.
[livejournal.com profile] izkariote: IT IS MUSHY.
[livejournal.com profile] factorielle: ...You worry me.

--Because that pretty much sums up how last week was for me. Spent most of my time ficcing and attending to some faculty things, but mostly ficcing because March is the month of GAR and fic-dumping, since several of my good friends celebrate their birthdays this time around and like hell I'm going to let them go without getting a gift from me, even if it's fail.

This also means that I ought to kick myself into shape again and pound out the long overdue fics that I owe other people who celebrated their birthdays while I was busy. I'll be free very soon, so it shouldn't be a problem.

ANYWAY SO. This weekend was pretty insane~ [livejournal.com profile] khursten, [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu and I met with Tricia, who is this uber cool Pinay doing research on the local yaoi community for her scholarship grant in Osaka. It was a night of Lights Out Talk and wonderful conversation AND OMFG D18 DOUJIN BECAUSE SHE IS AWESOME AND MANAGED TO SECURE THREE BEAUTIFUL TITLES FOR ME ASDLKGHK;AHSDGH;ASHDKLGH;LAHSDLKH;GHASDHG-- *brainsplode*

Um. Anyway. Yeah. Bottom line is, she's a great person, aaaaand I have more Peeco and Banyuu in my collection. |D

Attended class on Saturday before meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] khursten again, for her birthday celebration - [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu was with her, and we zipped over to Binondo for food tripping with [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel, [livejournal.com profile] ficcentricity [livejournal.com profile] yue_dermond and [livejournal.com profile] 77ws. We went over to her house after we finished up, where I watched some Gintama, broke Lynffles' brain with one of my critical readings, oggled my doujinshi yet again and rolled around until around two in the morning.

Was supposed to get home in time to celebrate Mass with my dad, since it's his birthday today, but I didn't make it - thankfully, my parents were okay with it. I just have to make sure not to do it again. Am upstairs now and finally done with most of my internet backlog.

Doctor's appointment tomorrow and on Tuesday. Beyond that, I've got to finish birthday fics for [livejournal.com profile] theprerogative and [livejournal.com profile] botling and teacherly things for my children. Might chill out a little longer, though, since I'm still kinda "bwuh" after being out for pretty much the whole weekend.

On other awesomeness, I was accepted into Amat. This makes me ridiculously happy, but also terribly worried. o_o

FIC DUMPING TIME. ♥

KHR: Return on Investment, Devil Summoner, Persona 3, Persona 4, Reborn!, Gintama, One Piece, Eureka7, Bounen no Xamdou, Metal Gear Solid, Kekkaishi. )

L-lots of fics. *shamefaced*

On other news: HELLO TO THE NEW PEOPLE ON MY FLIST. ...Hello, at least, to the ones I know and the ones I don't who bothered to comment on my F-O Post. orz Please comment there if you want me to add you back, guys. :|

--So not obviously impersonating someone very dear to my heart, nope. *snugs [livejournal.com profile] anothermiyaw

And before the random spazzing on what's been up down here:

Y HALLO THAR NEW FRIENDS! \o/

W-way overdue, kinda, but I kinda just went on a mad friending spree just a few minutes ago, so yeah. HI EVERYONE. THIS LJ. VERY DANGER. SAVE URSELVES, K? B|

The faculty meeting that has been eating up my life wrapped up last Friday and it was crazy wonderful to see everything work! If that wasn't enough to make my weekend look awesome, the Philippine Koushien trip to my ancestral home at Batangas was! We meme'd a lot, exfoliated a lot, laughed a lot, drank a lot and generally kicked around doing nothing but fun things the whole time. Much love to [livejournal.com profile] factorielle, [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] ficcentricity, [livejournal.com profile] lonelybusiness, [livejournal.com profile] 77ws, [livejournal.com profile] khursten and [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel! WE MUST DO THIS AGAIN SOMETIME. ♥♥♥

--And, um, I know I should post a lot more about everything that happened, but for serious: my brain is fried.

Slowly making my way through my online backlog now, so if you get WAY LATE REPLIES of a particularly braindead nature, please forgive me. INTERNET, Y U ALWAYS DO THIS?! OTL

No classes tomorrow, so I'm going to roll around and hopefully write all of the birthday fics I owe people (NO, DRAE, DON'T GIVE ME THAT LOOK I AM NOT DOING HIKAGO OR HUNTER x HUNTER FICS FOR YOU YET--) and maybe get some school work done in advance before I lollygag further!

Also: I have been smoking a hell lot more lately. This... is a little worrisome, isn't it?
izkariote: (cuteness.)
( Jan. 17th, 2009 10:13 pm)
It takes a monumental effort on my part to update my LJ.

...I should be worried about that, huh?

School & Grad Studies:

Taught my classes in tip-top shape pretty much this whole week - I suppose that means that I've finally gotten my groove back after Christmas break. Advisory marks are just around the corner, though, as are midterms... combine that with the fact that I seriously have to start thinking about the topics for my grad studies papers, and you'll probably have a very busy Pammeth by the end of January. orz

On other news, my report on Ghost in the Shell was marvelous, and it was followed by a great report on Battlestar Galactica. I THINK I managed to impress my professor - I'm a little iffy about his grading standards (I don't understand how I got the standing that I did with him), but my performance last meeting must account for something.

After reading Derrida, I think I've leveled up. ALL OF A SUDDEN, EVERY OTHER CRITIC I READ IS SO CLEAR. D:

Fandom & Internet Things

Meme of the Moment: If I was a button on a keyboard, I would be the Alt Key.

Keanu Reeves as Spike Spiegel? No. Just. No.

Return on Investment seems to be getting pretty positive reviews so far. I'm... honestly a little intimidated about having people that I don't know actually stalking my writing journal and looking for updates though. orz I suppose I should just be glad that people outside of my circle are actually reading it though?

On that note: Chapter 3 is up, for the curious. Also: LOOK AT WHAT [livejournal.com profile] mlina WROTE ME FOR CHRISTMAS. ♥♥♥ READ IT AND WORSHIP HER, OKAY?

Personal Stuff & Friend Things:

If someone had to make a tagline for me, I think the most appropriate would be this:

Kae:
"Ordering her world one icon at a time."

... *cough*

SO ANYWAY, YEAH. I HAVE CREATED A ROUTINE FOR MYSELF. See, I'm tired of watching my backlog on the manga/anime/comics/TV/random-errand-things-that-make-me-happy side of things building, so I've decided to do a combination of any of the following each day (along with whatever work or fandom-related things that com up) to cover all bases:

+ Archive more FF.net fics (this entails reading them through for errors and stuff also)
+ Edit previous chapters or write new segments of Return on Investment / write fanfiction or things for your original stories
+ Sort out at least 10 titles from the unread comics pile
+ Watch at least 2 eps worth of stuff
+ SORT A FEW IMAGES IN THE UNSORTED IMAGES PILE.

G-good luck to me, right? ;A;

Also, this is relevant to Philippine yaoi enthusiasts: had a meeting with the Lights Out ladies this afternoon. Good things may come this summer.

CHOU EXCITED. [livejournal.com profile] factorielle IS COMING TO THE PHILIPPINES VERY, VERY SOON.
Now that it's been exactly seven days since I posted this and I've managed to tear myself away from Persona 4, it's time for some srs life updates.

Monday: Went by in an odd daze. =_= Honestly, beyond the usual talk at the smoket in ADMU, I really don't remember what happened.

Tuesday: Did the usual monthly check-up thing with my endocrinologist~ she upped my dosage, but beyond that, all looks well. Put in some P4 time as soon as I got home, and then dragged myself off to Spec Fic class. I was about 80% sure that I'd regret it, and it turns out that I was right... Spec Fic is only fun with Dr. Cruz is teaching it. With the exception of my cousin's report and the report of one of the other lit majors, all of the reports we've had in class have been poorly done and boring as hell.

I suppose I owe them one though. Managed to scribble down a lot of notes for ROI.

I'm reporting this week. I plan to show them exactly how it ought to be done.

Wednesday: Was brain dead and totally lazy, but I forced myself to go to class anyway. Going online to bug random people during my long break really, really helped though! Also - I can apparently still swing three classes on less than 30% of a brain. |D

Thursday: Woke up hellafuckingearly to go to the dermatologist, in which my face ended up getting zapped by a laser, swabbed with weird chemical stuff and pricked by needles and other sharp implements several times over. Worked on my report for Spec Fic as soon as I got home (9-SLIDE KICKASS REPORT, GET), played Persona 4 again and felt like chucking the controller at the screen because the dungeon was Pissing Me Off, edited ROI in order to post it (links below!) and ended up fixing my layouts instead.

...Speaking of which.

[livejournal.com profile] izkariote [livejournal.com profile] stitchedophelia [livejournal.com profile] izkariote [livejournal.com profile] stitchedophelia [livejournal.com profile] izkariote [livejournal.com profile] stitchedophelia [livejournal.com profile] izkariote [livejournal.com profile] stitchedophelia

S-so proud of them! And I took a cue from [livejournal.com profile] aflyingteapot and made sure the layouts had decent font sizes! ♥

Friday: Woke up feeling seriously ill, so I ended up canceling my sessions with my kids in order to recover. Was feeling slightly better sometime before lunch, though, so I hooked up with [livejournal.com profile] anothermiyaw. ...And I don't remember what I did when I got home. orz ANYWAY, after that I crawled through two hours of traffic with my parents to go and meet with [livejournal.com profile] khursten, [livejournal.com profile] magnetic_rose, [livejournal.com profile] sortinghatlover and a lot of wonderful Dolly people. KHURSTEN, I LONG FOR THEIR LJs. DDD:

Saturday: Woke up late and a little better than I did the other day, dragged myself to class and discovered first hand that I hate Derrida + my brain is most definitely still in Vacation Mode, swung by the office to pick [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu up and drag her home for the big family dinner party, in which we celebrated three things:

1.) My little brother Peter making it into Ateneo de Manila University, which was his college of choice. His girlfriend Millie made it too, and to Management Engineering, of all things. O_O
2.) The birthdays of my two sisters-in-law. *smishes them*
3.) My Aunt Becky and her husband Reuben's safe arrival from the USA!

I also got to see Tala and Ava, since JP and Jonat were allowed to bring their girlfriends over. Millie was there too - she's great company.

Went upstairs after that to attempt to finish P4 for the second time, only to discover that FUCK NO, THE GAME'S NOT DONE WITH ME YET.

Today: Been playing Persona 4, but I'm back around to bitchslap the creepy people buzzing around [livejournal.com profile] anothermiyaw read up on this panfandom RP that I've decided to join me (just poke me if you want the story behind that; it's kinda embarrassing), attempt to go back to Serious Business, edit more of ROI for posting, maybe save icons, maybe change the icons on my LJs, maybe archive more stuff on my FF.net account and--

I really, really wish I was still on vacation. u_u

Also: BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY, [livejournal.com profile] kasugai_gummie! I LEFT A SEMI-IMPORTANT COMMENT ON YOUR LATEST POST. *flailing*

And now, for the curious:

Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Return on Investment

A possible future, ten years from now.

+ prologue
+ chapter one: Why I'm not where you are.
+ chapter two: Take the long road and walk it.
