This week has been absolutely lovely so far, with all these meets with friends~ it's just too bad that I wasn't able to go out with [livejournal.com profile] mlina. That would have made it even lovelier. :<

Also: Red Cliff was absolute win. HORSE PUNCHING, GET.

It's been a nice and quiet day at home for me, just like yesterday. Beautician came over to do my nails and some waxing (yeah, I'm preparing for Singapore, bite me), and I got to roll around and poke people that I don't often get to poke on IM ([livejournal.com profile] signifies, I'm looking at you). I also got to enable a lot of people to do a lot of shiny things, so that is always cool! Am also still on my jazz trip, since I'm working my way through the huge set of songs that [livejournal.com profile] khursten gave me. Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald are pure ♥, always and ever.

...Speaking of music. Let me tell you, flist, that the section of my external HD that I devote to my music finally ran out of space yesterday. Cue me madly scrambling around to distribute files to the laptop and less congested drives on my main PC.

This must be a sign. Guess I'm bringing home a new external HD and possibly a DS from my trip next week.

Pimped some of these on comms already, so you've prolly seen a few of them. Or you've already seen all of them, if you're following my fic journal. o_o
My weekend was pretty wild, because I kicked it off by hanging with my ADMU family over at Ayala Techno Park (AN EXTREMELY SHINY PLACE IS EXTREMELY SHINY) and THEN it was off to meet with the girls the next day.

Started off with me swinging by Medical City to see [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] khursten and [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel - we ate lunch before heading up to help Rachel's family out with her dad's hospital room. Teng Papan is perfectly fine from the looks of it! *w*

After Rachel went off with her family, we took a road trip around to pick Khursten's mom up and drop Lyn off before we hit Khursten's hood. We rolled around until late evening before zooming over to [livejournal.com profile] 77ws's party thing WHICH DID NOT HAVE PRITCHON, FEEL MY DISAPPOINTMENT WAVES OVER THE INTERNET--!

People spotted:
- [livejournal.com profile] psychoshoujo, [livejournal.com profile] gzep (who is srsly amazing when he is tipsy/drunk) and [livejournal.com profile] seraph_dreams!
- Sammi and Justin, who holds the distinction of being her boyfriend for more than a year. Good job, Justin. T^Tb
- [livejournal.com profile] menismastah and the Antarctics folks! Adz, your hair! o_o

Night passed into morning in a haze of way too much laughing and a whole lot of booze. Khursten and I went home by 2, but we didn't sleep all that much due to Srs Talk, which I'll likely poke the other girls about at the soonest opportunity.

Running on minimal sleep at the moment and back at home, but I'm still hoping that the family will decide to eat out. It's been a while since we've done that~

EDIT, A FEW HOURS LATER: Yeah, we went out. It was amazing. |D

YES THE KAREN!FIC GETS PIMPED TWICE. I-it's another thing I'm ridiculously proud of, because srsly: when I was writing the thing, I felt like murdering small animals over how difficult it was. NEVER AGAIN, OKAY. ;A;

Will continue posting the backlogged fanmixes very soon, along with my birthday gift(s) for [livejournal.com profile] g3ssh0ku just so that she'll stop linefacing at me.

This coming week will be the last week of regular classes - got some papers to check, consultations to do, a final exam to deliver and a paper to fish. GO SELF, U CAN DUUU IT~

Aaaand once vacation hits, I'll be in holy shit Singapore.

Holy shit. Time flies! D:
Well, I've learned one thing this week:

Attempting to write a little every day, while plausible, does not exactly deliver results. ~_~

On another note, Sango burgers and portabello mushroom spread are on their own unique, unparalleled levels of amazing. I have [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel to thank for suggesting that she, [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu and I go out to Rockwell yesterday, since I didn't have class. [livejournal.com profile] khursten followed us later, which was really cool as well. I realize that I truly live for weekends like this one.

Orzisms post: on Katekyo Hitman Reborn, the one ex-boyfriend who wasn't an asshole

This link has done the rounds on part of the interwebs already, since [livejournal.com profile] jusrecht was kind enough to take time out to read it and even went so far as to linking it on her flist. It's basically my look at the series as it is now, and why I appear to be falling out of it.

Still ficcing, though, if only to finish Return on Investment and my new pet project, Fiore di Nuvola (refer to minibang!). Flaws aside, I've always been attracted to KHR because of its potential, and writing this perceived potential out in my own way, through fanfic, is always the best way to express that.

On more blog-related news: I set Thursday aside to fuss over the thing, so I have posts scheduled to go up every week from here until October. Will pimp the links out on this journal, whenever I happen to remember to do so.

Finished Suikoden Tierkreis: I blame that on [livejournal.com profile] dreamlessness, who started the game sometime after me but finished first, thus kicking me into action out of guilt.

Yes [livejournal.com profile] factorielle, I will attempt to write BUT I CANNOT GUARANTEE QUALITY. /sob

Now starting on The World Ends With You, like the slowpoke I am. Terrible game, I tell you - brings out all the obsessive-compulsive tendencies in a player like myself.

Contemplating another friends' cut. With the exception of the people that I meet regularly or poke a lot online, I find that the internet's becoming rather toxic for me again.
So.

Long story short: I went to Vibal for an interview regarding freelance writing, and I got the job. This means that I'll be extra busy now, with the article requirement, teaching at ADMU and studying.

It may seem ridiculously harsh of me to be loading this stuff on my plate, perhaps, but I'm also trying to think on the level of me wanting to get published. Put my name out there, somewhere, and not just in the academic circles. We'll just have to see from there.

Also, on a related note: seeing [livejournal.com profile] innocentlyjaded and [livejournal.com profile] team7 was absolutely fucking wonderful, and [livejournal.com profile] psychoshoujo and I have got to hang out a lot more than we do.

Month has been batshit, but that can be generally said about this year. Still, these few rounds were particularly special.

Honestly considering dropping a few things now, in favor of others, most particularly real life. We've had a lot of vacations and stuff on the school front, but that does not mean that things are lessening any further, and the pressure really is on. I'll have to see, though - maybe it's just a mean season and I'm too immersed to notice the fact that maybe all of this will pass.

Times like this, though, make me extra glad that I've got some people watching my back. Oh, and food at Senyra? Fucking A++.

On other news: dad bought a shotgun. He is also going to go hunting again. For birds.

Yeah, I know. He's an adorkable old man.

Quick pimp-outs before updates!

+ Fanfic for [livejournal.com profile] fushimiru, [livejournal.com profile] theskytides RPG; Raidou and Naoto, "When are you going to love you as much as I do?"
+ Fanfic, Metal Gear Solid 3; Big Boss, "Slowly twisting the lilac stalks"
+ Fanmix, KHR!, for [livejournal.com profile] desumethis; Xanxus & Squalo - Married, with Domestic Violence!

It's good to be mixing again, and even better to be writing again. Currently working on a *cough* surprise KHR! fic, and it's going well. I just might make the deadline without problems.

As some of you already know, I went out with my folks to the Canadian Embassy. Passport renewal is death serious business, so serious, in fact, that it entailed being stuck on the road for nearly two hours (CURSE YOU, WEATHER!) and another hour-long wait because the dudes ahead took forever and a day.

Was supposed to go and see [livejournal.com profile] khursten (and later meet up with the Koushien for dinner along Tomas Morato), but we had to take a rain check because lol, well. Rain. Anyway, ended up tagging along with my folks the whole day - first to Glorietta (mom wanted to get her watches fixed at the service center), then to Megamall (dad wanted to canvas the prices of shotguns at the gun convention).

In spite of the fact that I've only pretty much just gotten home, it was rather nice, spending time with the folks. One funny thing that happened today was my dad attempting to read what I was working on over my shoulder. I... sort of panicked because I was doing gay porn. Um. Yeah. /)_(\

Oh, I also saw [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu for a bit! We finally got our gelato! ♥

Because of all the waiting time I had today, I got to finish Misha McGlenny's McMafia, after nearly a year of picking it up and putting it down. It's a fascinating read exploring the relationship between organized crime and globalization, and I strongly recommend it to whoever's into those topics.

With that done, I can go on to crawling through the other selections on my book shelf, and the book that [livejournal.com profile] lonelybusiness lent me a long, long, LONG time ago. *sob* RL keeps me pretty much too busy to really go through books unless I'm in transition or transport, since I'm usually occupied with so many other things when I'm actually free.

This has to change, though. Gotta make reading for leisure a much more regular habit, the way it used to be.

Funky animu again this season. Bakemonogatari and Tokyo Magnitude 8 look exceptionally well-done, for one.
Yep.

This is me, pretty much failing at updating anything beyond Plurk. o_o

Folks on the DW side of things, how are you doing?

Shoutout pretty much goes for the LJ folks as well. Been trying to keep up with your entries, but if there's anything I missed, don't hesitate to poke me.

First month of class has pretty much come and gone, so us ADMU profs are puttering right along through our fourth week of sessions with our kids. Not much to say beyond the fact that I'm pretty content with the way things are going now. Got decent students, a nice schedule, and the stuff I'm teaching are things I'm comfortable with. Now it's just a matter of getting better and better at it.

Graduate studies load is 3 units less stressful now, and the class is progressing fine. Came up with a kick-ass pitch for a paper involving a psychoanalytic reading of Persona 3, and my prof seems sold on the idea. Looking forward to writing it.

And that reminds me: I should srsly post up the papers I've already written here, huh? On the academic filter and such and so. orz I keep forgetting. orz orz orz

If there's one complaint I could have, it'd be that I don't really get to see the folks that I became rather close with last year, by merit of my horrendously long break. There are other ways to see them, though. I guess.

Still, I do miss those times. Four hours of doing absolutely nothing but smoke and chill out. Hard to find pockets of Zen like that these days.

I could talk and rant and rave a whole lot about that thing they call Faculty Day, but an online journal isn't exactly the best place to discuss such an event.

RPing all of these characters in all of these places is an exercise in schizophrenia.

There is no better way of putting it.
Literally rolled out of bed and in front of my laptop to spazzflail, poke Plurk, spazzflail at people, check the dollopload of tags I accumulated while I was asleep and hang around until I had to leave with the little brother (omgwtfwe'reonthesamecampusforsrs--). Traffic was terrible, but go figure: MMDA people did more shit with Katipunan when they don't know jack about actually DRIVING or commuting in our country.

Hung around the department and the lounge to say my his and hellos before zipping off to my class; I've mentioned this before, but my schedule has flipped around from last year, with me not only having all afternoon classes, but ALSO having no breaks in between them. Lol, sprinting timez. Lol, goodbye to complacency. Also possibly smoking less, since I'll have no time for the nicotine unless I'm giving a free cut or I'm dismissing the children early.

As for the children, they all honestly looked VERY nervous and VERY lost before some snark and stupidity in the classroom eased them up... I can't really blame them, with ORSEM out and all. A lot of them had no idea where anything was, or what stuff meant. Discussing the syllabus was lulzy, as always, and so far, I like the kids I have. They all look like the fun time.

There are also boys in two of my classes who apparently know who my little brother is, so that's srsly cute. XD

Crashed a bit when I got home, and I think it's because my adrenaline was yay high while I was on the job - I'm better now, after a good dinner, babbling to my father about education and nonsensical teacher things, and Ghiradelli brownies.

And so passed my first day. Here's hoping for the best.

HUHUHUHU [livejournal.com profile] starkissed, AM SO GLAD TO BE PINGING YOU FOR SERIOUS THESE DAYS. And yes, I totally top you.

May have to truly, officially take a hiatus from [livejournal.com profile] theskytides if things get a little crazy. We'll have to see.

...I should also probably get back to writing.

Um.

Yeah.
GETTING THIS IN BEFORE TAG RAPE ENSUES YET AGAIN.

Petrik celebrated his birthday with the rest of the Punzalan kids on the 9th with a delishus lunch in the office! It's kind of lulzy how half my family has birthdays this month, with me being one of them. ANYWAY, it was really nice, lounging around and talking with the bros that I don't usually get to see around~

After that, I met up with [livejournal.com profile] khursten and [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu in order to check up on B. My prayers still go out to her - she's had a rough time as of late, and that, for those of you who do know what's up, is a dire understatement.

Slept late into the next morning due to srs plottage for [livejournal.com profile] theskytides and [livejournal.com profile] yescomrade museboxing, and then zoomed off to ADMU after I woke up from sleeping like a total rock! I've gotten most of my pre-sem teacher stuff out of the way, and I got to catch up with my colleagues in the English Department, which is always cool.

Best part about yesterday, though, was hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] lainewell, [livejournal.com profile] dark_profanity and their friend Viktor after I gave up on finishing my registration! MUCH INSANITY ENSUED.

I'm currently chillaxing at home - I feel the need to rest, since my hours have been odd lately. Enjoying the shiny laptop speakers that my dad has loaned to me indefinitely, along with the fact that we seem to have fixed our internet connection (with no thanks to PLDT). See, my dad figured that some of our defective phones might be bleeding into the connection, since we're all still using one line... now we're thinking of getting a direct line for the net from the box in order to improve it further. When we all have the time to get someone to do it for us. IN THE MEANTIME, THOUGH, IT IS GOOD ENOUGH. *w*

And on other random things:

  • [livejournal.com profile] signifies and [livejournal.com profile] g3ssh0ku, ILU both. ♥
  • Nnnn school coming up next week. I don't want it but I kind of do!
  • My little brother is a man now. I feel so proud, watching him drive. ;w;
  • ...Why am I considering apping at other RPs again.

Yeah okay, back to tag rape. orz

EDIT - Tried and tested: every single time I praise my connection, it hiccups.
