Sigmund Freud, in his essay Fetishism:

When now I announce that the fetish is a substitute for a penis, I shall certainly create disappointment; so I hasten to add that it is not a substitute for any chance penis, but for a particular and quite special penis that had been extremely important in early childhood but had later been lost.

I seriously love it how lulzy scholarly articles can be in their dry, earnest seriousness.

IT GETS BETTER.

Have you read the essay? YOU REALLY SHOULD, IT'S LULZY.

If you take it out of context, anyway, the way I am. :'D

actually to tell the truth I've thought of Freud as a closet troll for quite a long while, imagining him snickering quietly at the fact that people are actually taking him seriously, because reading him sometimes, it's like EVERYTHING BOILS DOWN TO PENIS. PENIS PENIS PENIS. ALSO, YOUR MOM.

I haven't read this particular essay but my cousin's old Psych textbook had a pretty long section on him, so- yeah. I THINK I WANT TO READ THIS ONE NOW THOUGH. Just for the rampant penis.
