Written earlier, at around 10:45 AM.
I'm typing this as I sit in the lobby just outside of my doctor's office in Medical City, kicking around until my mother and my brother finish up with their own consultation. We've just talked about possible options regarding The Possible Cancer Case that is my thyroid gland. It's nothing that I haven't heard before, and I still haven't made a decision.
One thing's for sure, though: I do not, in as much as possible, want to go under the knife again. The writer in me keeps telling me that it ought to be an interesting experience, but the rest of me says that we could do well without "interesting", given how things usually are.
So. What does that leave me with? It's either I keep monitoring and hanging on and waiting, or I take a radioactive substance (can anyone say, 'Spiderman'?), kill my thyroid, get a scan and hopefully be done with it. Hopefully. But, at least, it'll be immediate. The results, I mean. And possibly the surgery, if it's even needed after the gland's gone.
I've got a few more months to consider it, and oddly, something tells me that my dad is going to be angrier about this and whatever decision I'll make than I am.
To Do List, on the Writing Front
If for anything, I have learned that these days? I suck at keeping deadlines.
People who have recently celebrated their birthdays but got nothing from me: please, comment here and let me know what I can do you for? I can't promise immediate results just yet, but I WILL put out. Eventually.
Also: may be making an open call for prompts REALLY soon, using the 31 Days and all that jazz.
I did say that I was going to post about my Amajing Weekend, so here we are. It technically started with me sleeping hellafuckinglate (the things you do to me,
theskytides), and waking up maybe 7-8 hours later, just a few minutes before
khursten and
yukitsu arrived at my doorstep. They watched me eat breakfast and wake up before we zipped over to ADMU, where Khursten needed to do some errands.
Lunch was spent with
starkissed and Iso, where we fangirled/attempted to enable each other and generally chilled out at Kourtyard. They dropped me off at ADMU in time for my class, which finished two hours early since we just had our little introduction spiel. There are only four of us in the class, plus the professor. ...I'm not sure how to feel about that.
Also: one of them is my upperclassman from way-back-when. Didn't recognize her at all. She's changed a lot!
Hooked up with Khursten and Yukeh again once I was out, and we headed for Greenhills for some retail therapy - or more like, Khursten's retail therapy and me and Yukeh tagging along, wishing we could buy stuff (although Yukeh DID get the R4s that Drae was asking for way back). My shopping list is up on my previous post, for the interested, and I am seriously going to cross shit out from there and add to it as I go along, if I remember to./
On that note, does anyone know whether there's going to be a limited edition something-or-the-other in time for any big game release? I'm considering the new versions of the PSP and DS, and I figure that I might as well make my buys spiffy if I'm even going to get them in the first place.
The first week was pretty crazy, but I do feel rather blessed. For one, I've got a much more manaegable schedule (Berchman-Belarmine 10-minute sprint aside), and for another, my classes are amazingly energetic and attentive, given the timeslot. Top all of that off with the fact that Peter is driving (with a Faculty Sticker, mind you), and it's been amazing, cool and otherwise just fine, as first weeks ought to go.
I still feel a little strange, teaching the batch of my younger brother, and knowing that people KNOW we're related. I'm also a little worried, since a lot of changes have been implemented in the curriculums of the subjects I teach (and if they HAVEN'T been just yet, they will be VERY soon). Let's not forget the fact that half of my brain is still in Vacation Mode. Overall, though, it's been good so far.
...Now if I could just get back to marathoning and writing. ._.
EDIT, written during my second English 11 class: ...Yeah, I'm the idiot who only figured out how to pack her mouse up properly now. orz INTELLIGENCE, I CAN HAS EET.

To Do List, on the Writing Front
- The Arcana Set of Fiction, for
psychoshoujo. Bb, might I ask if it's all right if I move past the fandoms you wanted? Been thinking on my approach, and I can't, in good conscience, ignore how perfect some of the ideas that I have for other fandoms fit into the themes. I keep forgetting to bring it up with you. - TST!cousin shenanigans, for
fushimiru. I WILL DO IT, I SWEAR TO GOD. DUN KILL ME! OTL - Xanxus and Squalo something-or-the-other, for
desumethis. - That Gintama idea I had, for Jooi shenanigans.
- Part II of my minibang. Even if I won't get to post it just yet. Since. Y'know. Minibang. orz
- KHR Undercover project, whatever it may end up being. Had a nice idea involving the daddies in the troop back when I signed up. Might be good to go with that.
- RETURN ON INVESTMENT. I'm going to have to backpedal on my notes and see what I can adjust and oh god I sure hope I can still finish this because I really really want to and -- right. Shutting up now. orz
- 6927 ficcage, going for the whole Altor possibility of reincarnations and past loves and whatnot! THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME OF THIS, LYN.

I am amazed at how quickly you replied to this!
BUT WHAT IS THIS ABOUT A POKEMONVERSE SERIES? MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHERE IS MY BIRTHDAY FIC?!
From:

POKEMON-VERSE SERIES. UM. Its this series I made up when I was thirteen. Despite the blatant character (Fullmetal Sneasel FTW) and plot ripoffs (KRIEGGGGGG) I really liked the idea I had for it and I really want to write it out. Its a really epic thing that spans four different series ahahaha. /tl;dr goes here
Oh yeah. Your birthday fic... um. Er.

You don't really need your thyroid...I think it's ok to be safe and kill it? :/

Mm, I suppose so. Still. A missing organ is never cool.

Seriously, doesn't bombarding organs with neutrons and shiz bring funky side-effects? But ah well, I declare Aku Soku Zan on this one. xD Good luck! \o
Good teacher stuff is good. :D

It supposedly does, but in my case, it's within "manageable" boundaries or something, idk.
Clearly, we need to smoke together again.

Also, I hear you about teaching the batch of your younger brother. I hardly substitute for other professors, but I keep looking at them and think, Eh, they don't even remember Pinatubo! O_O

Ahahahaha. It's really hard, sometimes, getting past the generation barrier. I'm lucky because I can still sort of follow what they're doing by merit of my own hobbies, but yeah.
