It's been a harrowing first week, to say the least. The last two days I had before school were devoted to exercising VERY early in the morning, and Lord knows I haven't done something like that in a while. I'm still not used to waking up early, which was exactly what I've been forced to adjust to this whole week. Then there was Wednesday and the first wave of June's Ides of Stupid, with Moralizing Sophomores, thesis problems due to strange changes in policy that really shouldn't apply to me in the first place but Hell, don't ask ME what's up with that and classes disappearing left and right. Previous entries can attest to that.
Suffice to say, Friday and Saturday were great ways to close the week. I met up with
sindapa,
yukitsu and
laurgasm at Shangri-La after battling through Manila + Makati traffic jams to get my paycheck at the STAR -- the three of us chilled out for a good few hours, and I think we all generally realized how much we missed just sitting around, doing absolutely nothing substantial. Got home late because the traffic was still bad, and ended up conking out without even poking anybody on y!m.
Woke up after several dreams involving me coming in terribly late for the first class for Development of Fiction, which was quite far from the reality. Sir DM is supposed to teach the class, but since he won't be back until August Miss Ivery de Pano will be taking over.
archangel_dream and I basked in the thrill of having a class full of graduate students, of people who actually took the class because they really wanted to and will apply this same seriousness and desire to learn to all the succeeding sessions.
...Right. Geek moment ends there. @_@
After doing some more Ateneoish things,
archangel_dream waited around for me at Crossroads 77 while I worked out, and then we headed over to Megamall to visit Yue-tan,
khursten,
sortinghatlover and all the lovely Pinkies they had on display for the Toycon. Event didn't seem to be very well-organized, and since neither of us had any money
archangel_dream and I just sat around at the Pinky booth, keeping our eye out for the few really nice cosplayers that made our afternoon.
magnetic_rose arrived a bit later, although she wasn't feeling well. The Real Life Otaku that assaulted the booth later didn't help much either. T_T
The two of us headed off a few hours before the convention closed in order to eat dinner at Soup Kitchen, where I finally satisfied a craving I've carried for their stuff ever since I first ate there in my junior year. We swung by the cousin's place to pick up my brother, then I dropped
archangel_dream off at Ateneo. Fussed over a great many Litsoc matters and then a few illustration things for
geist_net the moment I got home, cooled down by chatting with friends, and then slept sometime past midnight.
Parents are still in Cambodia with my brother Pio, leaving Paolo, Peter and I with the house until Monday evening -- as such, I'm tempted to skip out on Sunday mass altogether. I haven't been able to do nearly as much editing/writing as I want to, and I also need to finish my reading assignment for Philosophy. It's not too hot yet, but that's sure to change within the next few hours.
