It's been three years since I last picked up Swordspoint... I ended up reading the whole story and the three short stories at the end of it today while I was at the STAR. Practically gobbled it up like food, to be honest.
Beautiful, beautiful stuff, I tell you. I'd read the next book, Fall of Kings, but I think my eyes are going to mount a protest against me if I force it. I'll order my own copy of the books in due time -- I've always wanted them for my own. With a book like this, it's no wonder there was a small explosion of boy bonking fantasy epics during that time... it almost makes me want to ask people about other titles from that generation and see if I can mooch off of them for it.
On another note, I owe the author my eternal love and devotion. It's because of her book that I know exactly what to do with one of my nations in Apocalypse Please, which is the only story of mine that I think about these days beyond Endtimes.
So it's back to burning LO requests (I'm on the last person, unless someone plans on posting up another request anytime soon) and chilling out. I'm off to Gateway tomorrow with the usual partner-in-crime to meet more conspirators for the Tagcon. The WoD folk were originally supposed to have a campaign, but I decided to cancel on merit of the fact that Panzer has plans and some of my players won't be able to make it anyway. As to why I'm not going to be there... well, let's just say that my brain's still fried from DMing. 'Sides, it's been a long time since I've seen certain people.
I know I should feel vaguely sad about going to such a lovely convention and having no cash, but such is life. @_@
There'll be stuff to watch and manga to read once I get all the LO business out of the way.
[EDIT] ...Now I know why nobody's subbing Blue Dragon. I didn't even last past the first five seconds.
