So in spite of a very harrowing Friday morning, this weekend was among the best I've had this year.
khursten,
magnetic_rose,
yukitsu and
ryvaeus slept over, with
sortinghatlover dropping in and staying until the whee hours of the morning before she had to head off to Puerto Galera. Khursten, Yukeh and Rael played cook while Rotch and I were happily useless, watching cousin dear and my three brothers still living in the house duke it out on the Wii. We had gyoza, ramen and pasta for a midnight snack, along with slices of this mango cake which is the size of a puppy.
Now I feel bad that I didn't take a picture. o_o
Anyway, some of us (myself included) conked out a bit early (between midnight and 2:00 AM) while others continued Wii-ing until sometime before sunrise. We all woke up again at around 9 or so, Wiied a bit more, and then had brunch from the leftovers of breakfast. Then while I had more quality time with the Wii (Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess pwns my soul!), the rest of us read Fables or bonded with the piano.
archangel_dream arrived early, and Yukeh brought
kye_kestrel over too from Manila.
miyachan came in after a bit to watch Rotch click around on some Extremely NOT Worksafe and DEFINITELY Not for Guys flash games on the web (Strip Jack-en-pon! Flying Dildos! Interactive Sex Novels!). The other guests started trickling in sometime before seven.
I realize that while big parties have their own charm, it's the small parties that one really gets to enjoy. There's something wonderful in eating dinner at one table, surrounded by people who generally know each other and even if they didn't, can partake of the conversation, connect and have fun. I've a feeling I'm going to do things this way for a while yet... it's my first small birthday gathering in three years.
Most of the guests left maybe an hour after dinner, leaving me to just chill out and talk about games and anime and random things while the other half of the group Wiied. Went to sleep at around 1:00 after marathoning some anime and feeding Musebabies.
As you might've guessed, my birthday party was brought to you by Nintendo. XD
