My joys and my angy.

As a lot of my plurk buddies and closest friends will know, my connection has been pretty shittastic lately. I whine about it constantly - I'm painfully aware of this. Still, as anyone who pays for a service and realizes that they're pretty much getting gipped in return would know, it IS pretty aggravating, having an internet connection that tosses you around like a bucking bronco on a good day and just stays completely dead on a bad one.

Dealt with it pretty well due to RP duties and good company, but I think that trudging up and down the steps to constantly reset the modem eventually wore my patience down to a nub before I could realize it. And to top it all off, I lost my phone to it to boot, because right before I left for the house, I accidentally rammed against the corner of one of the big tables outside of my room while I was looking around for my shoes... Abel's LCD screen is completely busted.

Somebody up there was was trying to warn me from going out, and damn it, I wish I had listened to him. ~_~

Just a bit of background: [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu got wind of a Globe event from some of her acquaintances in the office. She roped me and [livejournal.com profile] ficcentricity into it, because we sort of expected to walk away either with something nifty to show for it, or to at least see what was up with the service. That has been the trend lately, after all.

Sounds nice, right?

Well, it wasn't. It was downright fucking terrible. The event was ill-planned, the PR agents who moved around to supposedly attend to us were incompetent, the venue had terrible food beyond the rice and the fruits, and you had to participate in all of their stupid kiddy games in order to get anything. Let's not forget to mention that the event started nearly two hours late, and the hosts alternated between corny to downright rude.

I'm leaving this on public because I want those bitches who set this shit up together to read my hate. I also have some advice for them.

1.) Don't waste your money on a craptastic blogger's event when you're just promoting something that you could have easily just promoted using advertisements.
2.) Contrary to popular belief, not all bloggers are just out for the free stuff, so don't treat them like dogs.
3.) Guests that sit in the back aren't crying for attention. So don't give them any lest they use your hands or your eyes as ashtrays.

Suffice to say, my mood was pretty much toast after we decided to leave the place early, and the fact that my internet connection was being douchebaggy AGAIN by the time I got home really didn't help.

Thankfully, though, Saturday was wonderful. Took a road trip down to Pampanga with [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] ficcentricity, [livejournal.com profile] 77ws, [livejournal.com profile] khursten and [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel - they've actually done the trip before, but this is the first time that I was able to go with them.

Fun times in the car, kick ass food at the destination, and Kat's amazing zombie ass-kicking rabbit. Then there was an Italian dinner at Trinoma, [livejournal.com profile] lonelybusiness and Star Trek to boot.

Need I say more? ♥

Currently chilling out before I go back to watching things online. I've managed to set up DW archives for this journal and stitchedophelia along with a brand new fic/creative archive using the invite codes I've recently received - you can friend them, if you want, but I doubt that they'll be very interesting to you for a good, long time yet.

On other news, I should seriously start up my Wordpress blog, huh? I built it, like, months ago, but I'm supremely lazy.

EDIT: I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT TO MENTION THIS -

Because my connection was so sucky, I finished my entry for [livejournal.com profile] khrminibang in one sitting a few days back. orz Seriously, as I said on Plurk, productivity is the bastard child of restlessness and a sucky internet connection.
