This week has been absolutely lovely so far, with all these meets with friends~ it's just too bad that I wasn't able to go out with [livejournal.com profile] mlina. That would have made it even lovelier. :<

Also: Red Cliff was absolute win. HORSE PUNCHING, GET.

It's been a nice and quiet day at home for me, just like yesterday. Beautician came over to do my nails and some waxing (yeah, I'm preparing for Singapore, bite me), and I got to roll around and poke people that I don't often get to poke on IM ([livejournal.com profile] signifies, I'm looking at you). I also got to enable a lot of people to do a lot of shiny things, so that is always cool! Am also still on my jazz trip, since I'm working my way through the huge set of songs that [livejournal.com profile] khursten gave me. Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald are pure ♥, always and ever.

...Speaking of music. Let me tell you, flist, that the section of my external HD that I devote to my music finally ran out of space yesterday. Cue me madly scrambling around to distribute files to the laptop and less congested drives on my main PC.

This must be a sign. Guess I'm bringing home a new external HD and possibly a DS from my trip next week.

Since I literally tore myself away from playing more Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, have a fic dump:

Pimped some of these on comms already, so you've prolly seen a few of them. Or you've already seen all of them, if you're following my fic journal. o_o
As the Plurklings will know, I've been killing myself over a fic lately.

Yes. A single fic.

I think it's the hardest thing I've written in a long, long time.

OH YEAH THIS IS KIND OF IMPORTANT: LJ notifications did not work for me for like, a WEEK. So if you had anything important for me in any comment, p-please ping me or something? ;w;

So here's the lowdown on the teaching thing, as promised... the demo teaching in itself seemed to go okay (class was generally dead, but I managed to get students to recite of their own accord, so~), and apparently the panelists really, really liked me. Panel interview was, uh, interesting, and the talk I had with the department chair after everything wrapped up was enlightening and reassuring at the same time.

I'll know the results within this week, or maybe next week. At this point, it may be safe to say that if I don't get in, it's because there just aren't any openings given the returning faculty members and other factors. Here's hoping, right?

At least I know that I can teach a class. I read the student evaluation sheets, and beyond maybe 2-5 semi-negative ones, the rest sounded like they really liked me. I suppose, if for anything, I can walk away with that.

...Uh, I'd be more in-depth about the actual things that happened, but they're best told in person, so.

I didn't go out last Saturday (surprising, huh?), so I took that opportunity to finish FF7: Crisis Core. Overall, my take on the game is that it wasn't bad at all... fighting system's interesting, graphics are typical Squeenix stellar, and the story, although it has is hitches, singlehandedly retconned and repaired the FF7 canon. I highly recommend all interested parties on my flist to play it if they haven't already. And yes, the ending pretty much sucks for Zack, but he inadvertently saves the Planet by saving Cloud, right? So I guess it works out. Even if he loses all his friends and his girl and his life in the long run. o_o

Once Crisis Core was out of my PSP, I suddenly had a bucketload of freed space. JAD pirated copies apparently curse my machine, so I'll have to wait for my chance to buy an original before I touch that one. I did, however, reload BoF 3 and Harvest Moon unto Kalika!PSP, to be played when I'm up to going back to them. FFT is still sitting around, but I'm so lazy.

I started on Final Fantasy 1 (yes, Final fucking-Fantasy 1, baby~), Valkryie Profile (I don't remember the original version of the game having FMVS! D:) and Tales of Eternia. I'm currently fixated on ToE, but it might be because it's my way of torturing myself over Tales of the Abyss. See, if I go back to ToA, this will be my third time of completely restarting the game. Thank you for getting lost on me, memory card. u_u

...Which reminds me. I have to restart Devil Summoner, don't I? *crai*

On other news, the old school-ness of FF1 compels me to find a way to play Final Fantasy 6. But I guess that won't be happening for a while.

Saturday was Game Day, Sunday was Mother's Day (which is synonymous to Super Family Day, with my out-of-house bros and their wives coming around to hang out with us), and today became Marathoning Tiem Day following my teaching stuff, since the best way to relax after something like that is to completely veg out.

Battlestar Galactica = picking up. Slowly. Maybe. The pace kinda reminds me of Heroes Season 2, so I'm hopeful.

Supernatural = picking up also. I guess.

House M.D. = I see what you did thar, Amber. B|

Code Geass R2 = it's a fucking soap opera. WITH MECHS!

Golgo 13 = Fucking mancake. That girl in the latest ep was such a bint.

Persona ~Trinity Soul~ = A convoluted story is convoluted~

Iyeah, I really suck at giving reviews. u_u IT'S THE SECOND DAY OF THE BLEEDS FOR ME OKEY.

Now I'm going to go and watch other stuff.
Whether we intend it to be or not, Holy Week almost always means returning to something old... or at least it has for me. I think it's because of the fact that we kids in the Punzalan household are placed under house arrest and nothing's open, so there's no point in going out anyway.

That said, what did I end up doing? I ended up getting bitten by the Endtimes bug, and started re-reading the entirety of my very, VERY old story from beginning to end. I just finished this afternoon.

BACKGROUND: For those on you who haven't been on my flist for a while, Endtimes -- ET -- is a story I started to write (and finished) in my freshman year of college... it clocked in at around 806 pages, and went through several revamps and revisions while I was in my sophomore year. From a very simple premise (Witch Hunter Robin meets gay etc. etc.), it expanded into a gimongous universe from which some of my most endearing characters hail from. It also has several hundred spin-offs, the most popular being Thick as Thieves and Bloodsport.

I originally intended to revise ET once and for all when I was in second year, but academic concerns and other stuff kept me from doing it -- basically, I ended up not touching ET for 3-4 years (excluding an experimental run of the first few chapters in the India & Conundrum online fic journal, which I still have to go back to when ET is really ready), and occupied myself with real life, writing fanfiction and doing other projects, like prepping campaigns for table top RPGs like D&D and World of Darkness. It was a little frustrating, but now that I think about it, it was a good thing: it gave me time to really, really think about how to redo ET and expand the universe properly.

Close friends of mine (namely [livejournal.com profile] khursten, [livejournal.com profile] ezraelandvari, [livejournal.com profile] xhael, [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu, [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel, [livejournal.com profile] archangel_dream and [livejournal.com profile] omnicrescence, with Khursten, Rachel, Liss and Drew being my part-time editors at various dates) know about my preoccupation with the story, and have been constantly encouraging me to pick it up again, but this is the first time I've managed to really sit down and get started on it. That's the lovely part about graduating: having a few months to check back on what really matters.

For TL;DR ramblings on writerly stuff and encountering an old work. )

OKAY. Now that the writer stuff is out of the way, what can I REALLY say about all of this? Just one thing:

The original version of Endtimes made a spectacular BL novel.

Cut for some more TL;DR rambling, this time of the corrupted fangirl nature. )

Even though I didn't agree with what a lot of what she said, my CW professor DID make one point that has stuck with me; she said that sometimes, writers find themselves with an idea or a scene that they can't actually handle yet. When that happens, the best thing that one can do is to write what they can for it, and then leave it for a long, long time.

In my case, Endtimes is an example of that sort of work, something that came at a time where I wasn't ready both as an author and as a reader to handle it properly. Now that I'm older and I know more and I've read more and I have a lot more songs to pimp, I think I can finally go back to it and do it properly.

So! Who's up to sitting down with me and helping me replot? x_X

Easter Vigil Mass is tonight. You know. Easter Vigil. The Huge-Ass Dose of Holy Where They Basically Cram Seven Readings Down Your Throat in a Single Night.

...At least my parents are home.

Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core finally finished downloading. I'll take a break from the writerly stuff to check it out. ♥
I'm posting this because my layout displays the calendar thingie for entries and I'm weirded out by the fact that I have consistently missed out on posting on Tuesdays this month.

I FINALLY WROTE SOMETHING FOR MY PERSONA 3 LONGFICS.

...Applause, applause! D:

Um. Well. Some of you guys already know that I've had these two longfic ideas that have been bugging me ever since I finished the game, but school work and general laziness kept me from getting around to working on them. With school out and Holy Week on the horizon, though, I figured that I'd spend the next few days working exclusively on all my longfic projects. I know I ought to be looking towards my originals, but I figure that the better approach would be to write and finish most of, if not all of, the stuff for my smaller ones, and then just drabble whenever I get tired. That way, I get more done in the long run rather than stay fixated on a single project without actually doing anything about it.

*breathes* So yeah. Basically, I think I've met my goal for today. Once I finish doing some stuff for the Epic P3 Sequel Idea, I will see what I can do for my TYL KHR one. Been pestering [livejournal.com profile] khursten, [livejournal.com profile] yukitsu and [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel endlessly for ideas... I sure hope I didn't end up annoying any of them for nothing. x_X

WHICH NOW REMINDS ME!

FLIST PEOPLE WHO ARE INTO BOTH KHR AND OOFURI: If, let's say, Yamamoto was on a pro baseball team, who among the Oofuri cast do you think he should be teamed up with? I have my own ideas at the moment, but it wouldn't hurt to get your opinions on it. Thoughts, people?

Writing stuff aside, I didn't do much today other than watch [livejournal.com profile] khursten spazz about Eureka 7 in my chat window while alternately talking KHR/randomness with [livejournal.com profile] kye_kestrel and [livejournal.com profile] sindapa. Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] khursten did something Unquestionably Evil by showing me KHR merchandise, which now leaves me torn between buying a Gokudera mug, a Hibari mug, a stuffed Hibird, or that whole damned set and more. A glorious vacation is glorious! o/

I've been getting hungry easier these days. @_@ I wonder if it's because I changed my diet and lessened my overall food intake.

CRAP FINAL FANTASY 7 CRISIS CORE IS COMING OUT IN ENGLISH SOON AND I HAVEN'T EVEN FINISHED FINAL FANTASY TACTICS YET. BUT WAIT I CAN'T GAME YET. MUST. WRITE. MOAR!!!!

Also: This is very, VERY bad crack for a rabid KHR fan like myself.

EDIT: HO SHIT QUICK MEGATEN FANS CLICK HERE, HERE, HERE AND HERE I DEMANDS IT! O___O

EDIT #2: And lo, even more bad crack:

So I spent all of last night and most of today cramming writing 25 drabbles for [livejournal.com profile] khursten, since I am poor and can only whore out my writing and weird-ass brainfarts as birthday gifts.

Well, one thing's for sure: my brain hurts. o_o

CONGRATULATE ME I'VE RE-DISCOVERED HOW TO DO THE FUNKY LINE THING.

*points above* SEE? :DDD

...Anyway. While [livejournal.com profile] themodestotter and I were spazzing about her possibly going to Japan later this year, I casually popped the idea of her swinging over to the Philippines instead, or during her trip. She's being sent to Japan as a part of some sort of Christian mission, and since the Philippines = the most Christian country in effing Asia, it's a possibility. It's either that or I try and fly out to Japan when she's there and pay her a visit, although that's difficult due to moneyz and personal circumstances.

Anyway, here's the best part of our convo:

Otter: Man, that sucks. Is it hard to get out of your country?
Me: Nah, not at all since I'm technically Canadian. *passports win at life* Just, I think I'll be starting my MA around June. That, and I have no money to pay for my own ticket. >_>
Otter: Really? I heard it was hard to get into [the Philippines]. At least, mom is convinced that it is. She keeps going on about how there is some sort of political turmoil and religious fighting between the Catholics and Muslims, and I am skeptical like I usually am about her "information." I keep telling her that I have a few friends that live there and I haven't heard a word about it, but she tells me that you guys aren't allowed to talk about it or something. I DUNNO.

...At that point, I lolled. Hard.

Srsly, fellow Pinoys, since when did our country become North Korea? XDD

I guess they're not kidding when they say that the US media really does try to build up this culture of fear and suspicion where they are. What's even funnier is that some people actually believe it.

[livejournal.com profile] themodestotter, I ♥ you.

Imma off to the doctor later today.

Don't worry, guys. It's not the annoying one.

Also, I'm being dragged back to the office. Apparently, my aunt is looking for me.

...I want a longer vacation. T_T

On a final note, Here's some more fic dumpage over at [livejournal.com profile] stitchedophelia. :o

2008 Writing Meme requests (2 Persona 3 pieces, one D.Grayman and one Code Geass) for [livejournal.com profile] sindapa.
Persona 3 fic dumpage.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn fic dumpage. One of them is porny, and another one is just gay.
FFT flash fiction.

With all of that, I think I've managed to bleed the fangirl out of my system. ...Sort of.
...I have prolly flooded the flists of some of you with all the posts I've made in the past hour. @_@ Ahurhur.

I BRING YOU PORN THOUGH. I SKIPPED OUT ON GETTING MY HAIR CUT AND STAYED HOEM TO SHAKE MY MUSE TO DEATH AND WRITE ALL THIS STUFF! THAT'S COOL, RIGHT?

IT'S FANFICTION TIEM! *chomp*
Fulfilled requests for: [livejournal.com profile] lonelybusiness

Final Fantasy 12. Souls are like armed batallions.

Katekyoushi Hitman Reborn! How does it feel when you're inside me?

Ookiku Furikabutte. A pound of flesh.

Persona 3. Helpless.

You'll note that each one of those have their own posts. Am trying out a different format for teh writing journal. :o

It's been such a long time since I've written porn~ ♥

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...And that's about the only reason why I made this post. BUT WAIT.

ANSWER THIS POLL FOR GREAT JUSTICE. )

Srsly, gayz, the ties must be broken! T_T

Okay, I go nao. *goes!*
